Since 2008, we have served more than 4,000 students. We need your help to serve even more in 2014. “Even 35 years after participating, I can still say that Outward Bound is one of the most important and moving experiences of my life. (It) helped teach me self-reliance, self-confidence, teamwork, and perseverance, all skills that I still use in my entrepreneurial efforts opening cutting-edge charter schools nationally.” – Mark Kushner, Outward Bound Alum ’82 1 2 Source: A third party market research study commissioned by Outward Bound USA in 2013 Source: Average value of event media coverage from “Fast Facts” Over the Edge USA. http://overtheedgeusa.com SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Presenting Sponsor ($35,000) Summit Peak Sponsor Sponsor ($25,000 ($10,000) 2 available) Expedition Sponsor ($5,000) PRE EVENT OPPORTUNITIES Exclusive Outward Bound Professional teambuilding experience (15 participants Rock Climbing, Urban Plunge or Hiking) $5,000 value! 1 1 Web Presence: event website, OBCA website (7,000+ page views/month) Logo (linked) Logo(linked) Logo Logo Event Advertisements/Press Releases Logo Logo Logo Listing Pre-event collateral (Rappeller Handbook, Sponsor Handbook, info emails) Logo Logo Logo Listing Social Media (reach: 1500+ locally, 20,000+ nationally) Listing Listing Mail/Email Correspondence (6,000+ reach) Targeted Campaign Listing Cause Marketing Yes Listing RAPPEL EVENT OPPORTUNITIES Rappel on VIP day with celebrity attendees 6 Yes 4 3 2 23 Stories of Change Newspaper Full Page Ad Full Page Ad 1/4 Page Ad Tent or Banner at Registration or Landing Area Participant t-shirts and helmet stickers Yes -Prominent Yes Half Page Ad Yes Logo Included - Logo Included Included # Included Rapellers Promotional materials in gift bags (one per participant - 200 total) Included VIP EVENT OPPORTUNITIES VIP Event Verbal Recognition from Podium 1-2 Min Message from VIP Event Podium # VIP Reception Invitations VIP Reception Cocktail Table Yes Yes 12 Premiere Table Yes Yes 8 Premium Table Yes 6 Preferred Table 4 Logo Logo Logo Listing Listing Logo Listing Listing POST EVENT OPPORTUNITIES Logo Logo Printed thank you ad (contingent on securing Logo Post event thank you letters and email OBCA Annual Report Presenting and/or Media Sponsor) Host a preview / wrap party Yes SOMETIMES THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS NOT A ROAD. STORY #1 OF OUR 23 STORIES OF CHANGE LUIS FRAUSTO From Watts to Mt. Wilson Luis on a hike in Palos Verdes Natural Preserve with Catalina Island in the background. Luis recently summited Mt. Wilson with the Sierra Club! Luis grew up in Watts, a rough neighborhood of Los Angeles. When a guidance counselor at his school told him about the opportunity to go on an Outward Bound course through the Pinnacle Scholarship Program, he jumped at the chance. His Outward Bound expedition—a 22-day mountaineering expedition in the High Sierra—gave him the chance to see the world outside the city, a world that up until that point had only existed in his imagination or on television. “It was amazing: sleeping under the stars, seeing numerous meteors, forests, waterfalls, meadows, snow, wild trout, meeting people from different parts of the country and not to mention the view from over 13,000 feet, which felt like the top of the world!” Luis loved having the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of young people from all over the country. Luis remembers that despite their differences “we found a way to work together and get things done.” He also remembers having to face his fear of heights on a very steep traverse across a patch of snow, which literally brought him to his knees. (He crawled across!) He says he embraces the process of facing his fears, because “when we have fear, it encloses us. It’s very limiting. The only way to know what we are capable of is through experience.” Today, Luis works as a lab technician at Siemens Healthcare and hikes the foothills of Los Angeles in his spare time. To this day, he remains grateful to the donors who made his expedition possible in 1996. JOIN US TODAY!
