RULES OF THE AUCTION
Silent Auction – Bidding Procedure
1. A Bid Sheet has been placed near each item in the silent auction. You may write your
bid on this sheet until the bidding closing time is announced for each table or auction
area.
2. Each Bid Sheet has a starting bid and an increment figure. Please note the starting bid
amount, and the amount by which you can raise a bid (increment).
3. Write your BID NUMBER on the Bid Sheet with the amount of your bid. PLEASE
DO NOT USE NAMES. Each new bid should be written on the first available blank line
on the Bid Sheet, and must be in round dollar amounts at least equal to the increment
figure stated on the Bid Sheet. Please note: If the increment figure is $20 for example, a
bid with a $10 increase will not be honored.
4. Many Bid Sheets also have a dollar amount in the bottom right hand corner in a box
named, “It’s Mine”. You can close the bidding immediately and win the item by bidding
the “It’s Mine” amount.
5. In the event of a dispute, the Auction Chairperson shall have sole and final discretion
to determine the winning bidder.
6. The extent of your eligible tax deduction for your contributions this evening should be
discussed with your accountant or tax preparation service.
7. Please note that some items have restrictions and expirations.
8. If you cannot be there for the Live Auction and you would like to make a bid, email
your top dollar amount to [email protected] and we will inform the auctioneer.
