Cruise Show and Afterparty
New York was the spring break destination
of choice this year—at least for the European
fashion crowd. Valérie Chapoulaud-Floquet,
the president and CEO of Louis Vuitton
Americas, celebrated the special edition
of W magazine edited by Sofia Coppola at
the perpetually glamorous La Grenouille,
a locale perfectly in keeping with the issue’s
luxury theme. The dinner lured guests
including Debbie Harry, Lee Radziwill,
Molly Shannon, and Phoebe Philo. A
week later, Salvatore Ferragamo toasted
its new Fiamma handbag line, filling
midtown’s Casa Lever restaurant with
some of the It women—like Langley Fox
and Princess Melusine Ruspoli—who
appear in online videos for the collection.
And the following night, Dior ferried
well-heeled guests across the harbor for
its 2015 cruise show at the Duggal
Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
(For many, it was a return engagement:
Alexander Wang held his fall 2014 show in
the cavernous space a few months ago.)
After taking in the collection—and scenic
views of the city—guests headed to a
more familiar stomping ground, the Top
of the Standard in Manhattan, for latenight revelries. No kegs or wet T-shirts
