and sports injuries, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia. Our
groundbreaking clinical care has benefited more than 245,000 children. All of our physicians hold appointments at
UT Southwestern Medical Center and are renowned for extraordinary patient care, outstanding research and teaching of

• More than 10 percent of the pediatric orthopedists in North America trained at TSRHC.

• The World Federation of Neurology met at TSRHC in 1968 and formulated the first consensus definition of
developmental dyslexia.
• TSRHC’s Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders staff contributed to legislation requiring Texas public
schools to identify and treat students with dyslexia, and implemented a licensing program for teachers with training in
dyslexia intervention.
• Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia is internationally recognized for improving educational techniques for children with
learning differences.
