Or strange? Or beautiful? Or ugly? We are constantly bombarded by a media that tells us who and how we should be, and often what we see and here from the media is reinforced by our peers – spinning us into a frenzied worry about how we must fix ourselves to fit in with society’s norms. Jeff Frank Director Is that really the path we want to take? Or is it possible to cast aside the expectations of others and embrace the person we are truly meant to be? While simultaneously celebrating and skewering fairy tales, SHREK offers two heroes, who through their love for one another, learn to celebrate who they are at heart. May we all be so lucky, and may we embrace the world around us with a love and an openness that makes it just a bit easier for others to be, and to become, who they are meant to be. FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR Dear First Stage family, Welcome to First Stage’s 27th season! Whether you are here for the first time, or you have been a First Stage family for many years, we ask you this season to come “Discover, imagine and explore” with us!
