(FSM)
This is the most common mounting method and also the technique that
can be used for any module of the INNERFACE System. Flat surfaces
that the modules are likely to affix to are: walls, doors, windows and
desk or counter faces.
In most cases plaque modules and secondary directory modules can be
mounted with a two-sided foam adhesive tape. If the mounting surface
is textured or resistant to the foam tape, it is advised that a liquid
adhesive be used in conjunction with the tape. If the surface is highly
textured, it is recommended that a mounting plate be used. The plate
is mechanically mounted to the textured surface with screws, then the
plaque or directory module is mounted with foam tape to the smooth
surface of the mounting plate. The mounting plate with screws is
designated (MP/S) on the product sheets.
For glass surfaces when it is desired that the foam tape not be seen
through the glass when viewed from the backside, a backplate can be
mounted to the opposite side of the glass. The backplate used for glass
is designated (MP/G) on the product sheets.
The standard material for mounting plates is black styrene, and
backplates are black acrylic.
DESK TOP
MOUNTED
(DTM)
Many of the modules of the INNERFACE System can be affixed to a
stand that will then allow the module to sit on a desk or counter top.
This permits flexibility in positioning the module. All of the stands are
available in the form of an inverted ”T” or an angled form.
All stands come with felt tabs on the underside. If a non-movable,
permanent mounting is desired, foam adhesive tape can be affixed to
the underside upon special request.
The desk top mounted method allows the message to be read from
two
sides if a plaque or directory module is affixed to both sides of the “T”
bracket.
The “T” brackets and angled stands are offered in black acrylic as a
standard.
PERPENDICULAR If a module of the system requires increased exposure it can be
mounted perpendicular to the wall surface, thus permitting it to be

read as one approaches the identified area.

Many of the modules of the INNERFACE system can be perpendicular
mounted by affixing the module to a “T” bracket. The bracket is
mechanically mounted to the wall surface with screws.
The perpendicular mounted method allows the message to be read
from two sides if a plaque module is affixed to both sides of the “T”
bracket. The “T” bracket is black painted steel.

MOUNTED
(CM)
Many modules of the INNERFACE system can be affixed to a “U”
channel which will then allow them to be ceiling mounted. The “U”
channel is mechanically mounted to the ceiling with toggle bolts.
This mounting technique affords increased exposure and reinforcement
of the plaque of directional message.
This ceiling mounted method allows the message to be read from two
sides if a plaque module is affixed to both sides.
The “U” channel is bronze anodized aluminum.

The standard method of mounting Plaque Modules to partitions is
through the use of a clear acrylic clip. The clip is fabricated to fit
over the top of the existing furniture system component.
INNERFACE offers standard clip sizes and custom sizes are available
upon request. The clip’s inside dimension varies according to
partition thickness.

MODULE SPECIFICATIONS
MATERIALS: Acrylic and Styrene
FABRICATION: Plaque is to have an 1/8” thick black styrene backplate
with a 1/16” thick matte clear, optically- correct acrylic faceplate.
TYPOGRAPHY: All lettering is subsurface, behind the 1/16” acrylic
faceplate. Sign messages must be easily changeable with an insert sign
plate which is removable only by use of a special tool thus achieving a
flexible system while still retaining the apprearance of a nonchangeable subsurface screen printed sign.
INSTALLATION:
Flat surface mounted plaques are to be
adhered To the wall and door surfaces
with 3M 4416 Foam tape. Silicone
adhesive is to be used with the tape for
textured surfaces or on wall vinyls with a
“Tedlar” finish. If the surface is highly
textured it is recommended that a
mounting plate be
used.
