in Paris, and it dates from
the late 19th century. The
round shape of the Coin
sofa encourages lively
conversation as the perfect
centerpiece in a modernday salon. Split in two,
each half holds its own as
extra seating against a wall.

Meadow sofa was found
in Paris. John loved its
relaxed look and thought
the low arms seemed just
right for stretching out.

lines and a general grace

The Fritillaria chair is based
on an original Napoleon
111-style pair of chairs that
John now owns. Napoleon
111 was the nephew of the
Napoleon that we are all
familiar with. This style
dates from the mid-to-late
19th century, France. This
chair has antique brass
casters on all legs and is
low and deep with classic
lines and proportions.
Once you’ve been
enveloped in the Butterfly
chair's cozy wings you’ll
never want to get up.
Based on an American
original dating from
1830 our Butterfly chair’s
compact profile makes
it an excellent reading or
occasional chair.

reproduced after a 19th
century conversation piece,
just right for light flirting
or an intimate talk.

The deep, low Coop chair
is based on a mid-19th
century antique from
France. Tufting and fringe

John bought the original
Tulip chair from an antiques
dealer in Paris. Classic,
low and snug, the Tulip
chair provides maximum
comfort and pairs well
with a multitude of styles.

John just had to bring the
original Leaf chair back from
Belgium when he took note
of the big comfort coming
from this small piece. The
generously stuffed seat
makes our Leaf chair perfect
for long hours at a desk or
dinner party.

The Dromedary loveseat is
hard to place as far as style
and period. One thinks
of camel-back furniture as
having one hump in the
middle. Ours is the reverse,
with a dip in the middle
and a hump on each side.
The Dromedary loveseat
has brass casters on the
front legs only.
This very stylish white and
gold dining chair, inspired
by a Belgian antique dating
from 1890, has a straight
back to encourage good
manners and a comfy seat
to encourage long cozy
meals.

This sofa was found in
France. The original
antique impressed John
with its fluid lines,
reminding him of the
Townsend bat. True to
John’s vision, this twoseater's simplicity adds
style to any room but
won't overwhelm.

The original Garden chaise
was found in Montpelier,
where John noticed it was
perfect to stretch out and
nap on, while its low back
along one side also allows
it to be used as a sofa.

Inspired by a Hepplewhitestyle antique, the Geranium
sofa has a lean, straight
look with antiqued brass
casters on the turnedwood front legs. With a
taller leg and a shorter seat,
proportions are perfect
for dining.

Delicate as a flower, this
inviting slipper chair (left)
is just right in the bedroom,
offering the perfect mix
of proper and pretty.

Blade chair (right) is a
study in proportions. John
found the original antique
in the South of France and
loved it from all angles.

The original of this lovely
wingback was an American
piece dating back to 1870.
The Thorntail’s outsized
proportions, generous depth
and large “wings” envelop
the sitter in a cocoon
of comfort.

We needed a place for
the perfect nap so John
found this classic antique
chaise on a shopping trip
to Belgium. The original
antique, dating from 1880,
caught John’s eye because
of its simple, elegant lines.

Our Mantis chair proves
that a statement piece
can be as useful as it is
interesting. Inspired by an
early American chair this
one skirts the line between
serious and fun while
adding maximum comfort
at the dining table.
