Using easyBoard – First steps
The basic work with easyBoard is to create a project with your products placed in a display or
hanging on a wall.
So, let’s go and create our first project.
Start easyBoard and do the login in with your individual user data (it is always written into your login
screen and you only have to click on the button Login.
After logging in you will see the main screen of easyBoard.
On the top you see a menu bar and below an icon bar. Here you will find the most frequently used
tools you have to work with.
On the right side the screen is divided into the search of products and fixtures and, below of the
search window, the libraries with all available products and fixtures.
The big empty area at the right is the working area for your project.

To improve your work with easyBoard lets do an exercise with a first small project.
So, go and click on the Start button at the upper left corner.
A little menu will come up and you have to select the first
entry ‘New’ by using the left mouse key.
After this a little dialogue appears where you type in the main information of your project.
First you see all fields empty and you can type in
what is needed. All fields which are marked with a
red asterisk need to be filled. The ones without this
asterisk can be left free.
So, let’s set the project number, the project name
and some text as additional information.
After finishing this click on the button Open and the
new project starts.

The dialogue closes and easyBoard activates the icons in the icon bar to start your work.
It also changes the little window for libraries at the left side of your screen. It opens the library
for fixtures automatically, because the software knows what to do next.
Attention: easyBoard divides between products and fixtures and during the whole program you
will always see the same symbols for products and fixtures.

So, if we look to the library window we’ll see that the symbol for fixtures is activated.

In this moment where we really start to build our first wall.
So, we have to answer the next question: which parts do our project need and what are
the dimensions.
Let’s take as an example the Tegometall parts, which are standard at the market.
Let’s say our wall is built in a dimension of 3x125cm and a height of 200 cm.

Open the library Tegometall Standard and you will see all necessary parts in there.

So, let’s read again above what we want to do: Planning a wall of 3 x 125cm x 200cm.

Go on and open the Library Säulen/Uprights 80x30. The fourth line of entries is the pile for a height
of 200cm.
Click twice on it and you will see that it is immediately placed in the centre of the screen.
Now we have to place the second pile, exactly in a distance of 125cm. We can do this manually, but
easyBoard gives you nice tools to do this more easily and faster.
Instead of moving a new upright by mouse, go above the libraries to the field ‘Distance type’ and
click on the drop down there. Go and select the entry of Tego 125 outside

easyBoard places
the upright in the
selected distance
of 125cm.
Go ahead and click again twice on the upright and it will be placed again to the next 125cm (which
means in our case at the position of 250cm. And again for the last upright click twice on the entry in
the library.
Above on the screen you can see that we have now placed four uprights, which gives us space for 3 x
125cm.

The next job is to place the Back panels onto the uprights.
This is nearly the same way you placed the uprights:

Go to the libraries and open the Back panels with the capital letters RL at the end. Now you
see the available Back panels.
Go to Distance Type and select the entry Back panels
Select the first upright by clicking on it in your project
It should look like this:
Now click twice in libraries on the entry of the Back panel 125x40.
You will see the first
Back panel is placed.
Go ahead now and
click twice again on
the entry Back panel.
For the last Back
panel is selected, the
next Back panel will
placed above the first
one.
Click again twice on
Back panels and do it
again until the wall is filled.

Then go over to the second upright and select it via mouse click. Fill it up with Back panels and go to
the third upright and do the same.
After you have done this, the wall should look like this:
Next is to place some shelves into the wall.
Go to Libraries and open shelves and subsequently open the sub library shelves 125, because we
have a segment width of 125cm.

For placing a shelf you only have to select it, hold down the left mouse key on it and move it over to
the position you want to place it.
In our example select the shelf with 125x57, which means this shelf has a depth of 57cm.
Hold down the left mouse key and move the shelf over to the first segment to the lowest position
which is possible (means position Y=0).
The project should now look like this:
For the next segment we need the same shelf at position Y=0. So, this you can do the same way you
have done before. Go to library, select the shelf and move it to the right position.
But there is another fast and efficient way: the copy functionality.
You can move your mouse to the already placed shelf and select it (if you go over the shelf it will be
green) while holding down the left mouse key. At same time hold down the ctrl key of your keyboard
and move the selected shelf to the next segment to the right side. You will see, the shelf will be

copied and placed to the next segment (right to the upright).
Now place a new shelf with the depth of 47cm into the wall. Go over to the library, select the shelf
125x47, hold down the mouse key and move the shelf to the first segment and place it there (on the
mouse arrow you will see the x and y positions, x is for horizontal and y for vertical values).
Place it several times. Try to copy with CTRL key or select new in library and drag and drop into your
project.
Finally, it should look like the following image:
Now only your products are missing in the project to have it ready made for your customer.
Let’s now switch from the library of fixtures to the library of products.
Click on the top of libraries on the tab of products and it will open the libraries immediately.

Now it is easy to place the products onto a shelve.
Select a product, hold down the left mouse key on it and drag it to the shelve where you wish to
place it.
Important: bring the arrow of your mouse to the border of the shelve, because than easyBoard
recognize what you want to do and let the product snap onto the shelve.
Another way to place products is to select the shelve by clicking with the mouse on it, go over to the
library and click twice on the product to place it immediately on the shelve. As long as you have
select the shelve, you can go on and place every product with a double click onto this selected
shelve. The products will automatically be left aligned.
Next step is to place products on the wall, which are hanging on hooks.
easyBoard identifies products suitable for whether placing on shelfs or to hanging (or both) on hooks
Go to the fixture library, open the
library of hooks or pegs and select one
with the left mouse key. Now use right
mouse key, it opens a small context
menu and you have to select the
option standard peg for using this
selected hook for placement.
Switch back to the products and drag a hangable product into the project. If it finds a possible place,
the product will have a green colour and you can leave the left mouse key. Automatically a hook will
be placed on that Back panel and the product onto the hook.

Printing reports and planograms
If you have finished a project it is time to share the result with your customer. You have the
possibility to print it on your printer device or into a PDF file.
For this go and click on the Start button. The last entry of the opened menu is the print menu. Click
on it and you will come into the print management of easyBoard.

The print menu
The print dialogue allows to print the 3d screen with a rotated project, a flat model of the project and
at the same time the report of used products and fixtures.
You only have to go through and select what you want to print and which additional information you
want to have on the printed image (for example the position number of a product)
Finally, you can select printer, preview or a PDF file for sending your selection to print.
