Cerulean Springs Lodge No. 875 was sponsored by Mark Tyler
Lodge 319, Wallonia, Kentucky in the fall of 1914. Minutes of Mark
Tyler Lodge reflect a number of their members demitting the summer
of 1914 to establish a new Masonic Lodge in Cerulean. Although
records are not available, new members came from Cadiz, Hopkinsville and the surrounding Lodges.
The Grand Lodge of Kentucky issued a charter and Lodge Number
875 on October 14, 1914. For 100 years this Lodge has served its members and the community.
On Sunday morning, April 3, 1971 the entire town of Cerulean
Springs was destroyed by a massive fire. This destruction of approximately seven businesses and homes also claimed the Masonic Lodge
and its contents. Ironically, the last stated meeting in the old Lodge
was April 1, 1971 - April Fools Day.
On April 12, 1971 Cerulean Lodge received a dispensation from the
Grand Lodge of Kentucky to conduct Lodge meetings again in the Mark
Tyler Lodge in Wallonia. Their first meeting was held on April 15, 1971.
On June 17, 1971 a Building Committee consisting of Malcolm Sons,
Howard Hopson, Ernest Hancock, Lowell Bartruff, R.B. Holland and
Gilmer Burgess was appointed to oversee the construction of a new
Lodge building in Cerulean. In September 1971 Brother George Everett
Rogers was awarded a contract to build a 70' x 32' masonry building to
accommodate a Lodge and post office in Cerulean. The U.S. Post Office
was opened on April 1, 1972 with the first Lodge opening on May 19.
Mark Tyler Lodge 319 consolidated with Cerulean Lodge August 7,
2007, due to fire destroying their Lodge.

The Grand York Rite
Bodies of Kentucky
Brothers, Companions, and Sir Knights,
Dues season is here again. Please pay your dues promptly.
Our Lodges, Chapters, Councils, and Commanderies work from tight
budgets, and need each of us to share the responsibility of paying the
bills. As members pass on, demit, or get suspended for nonpayment,
we have less members to share these costs. This leaves us with two
options, increase membership or increase dues. We must maintain
our high membership standards, so sometimes a dues increase is
unavoidable. Your continued membership, dues, and donations are
important and always sincerely appreciated.
Brothers:
• See the Senior Warden “pay the Craft their wages if any be due
and see that none go away dissatisfied” in the Mark Master
Degree.
• In the Master Mason Degree, you learned the Grand Masonic
Substitute Word. Learn the True Word of a Master Mason and
how it was recovered in the Royal Arch Degree.
• Learn how that word was preserved in the Royal and Select
Master Degrees.
New Masters: Schedule a York Rite presentation for your Lodge!
Your local York Rite Bodies will be glad to help!

MASONIC HOME JOURNAL, for immediate release.....
“Dialog Between n
nSimon and Philip”
––––––––––
The early 18th century catechism, “A Dialog Between Simon a Town
Mason and Philip a Traveling Mason” will be presented at
Wm O. Ware Lodge of Research on the 5th Thursday, January 29,
Dennis Lovell, Master announced.Although undated, the
Catechism is contained in the same manuscript as
“The Whole Institution of Masonry –1724”.
––––––––––
The ‘Dialog” is in two parts; the first part appears to be a set of ‘test questions’ with short answers, possibly for easy memory, and the second section contains the authors notes or comments on certain questions. It also
refers to “Old Masons and New Masons” (possibly the first reference to
Ancient and Modern Masons), and presents a diagram of the ‘form of
the old lodges and the new lodge under Dr. Desaguliers Regulation”.
––––––––––
The presentation will be made possible by the
Educational Committee of the Masonic Library and
Museum Association of Covington Scottish Rite.
Dinner at 6:30 pm and Lodge opens at 7:30 pm.
The Lodge meets at the Masonic Temple,
1553 Madison Avenue, Covington, Kentucky.
All Master Masons are invited. –W. Lorenz

On October 27, 2014 Jerusalem Lodge No. 9 hosted their Past
Master & Service Pin Night. There was a good crowd in attendance. After a wonderful meal, the Lodge opened up, was called to
refreshment so that they could open up the Lodge for visitors and
spouses that attended. Master Jim DeArmond had a well planned
ceremony and very kind words to say to each Brother that was recognized. Several other Brothers spoke about what the Lodge meant
to them. Pictured, Master DeArmond presenting all the Past Masters in attendance a gift from the Lodge for their dedicated service
