Natural Renae’s a
blonde Bombshell
iss Universe WA
national finalist
Renae Ayris has set
aside her pageant
make-up for a pared-down
photo shoot to promote sunsmart brand Aussie
Bombshell.
The Connolly beauty, who
is getting set for the Miss
Universe national final in
Melbourne next month, was
chosen to be the face of the
brand’s new skin hydrator
line after being spotted by the
Aussie Bombshell team.
Access All Areas were given
a sneak peek into the shoot,
which Aussie Bombshell
founder Penni Towner said
was all about highlighting
Ayris’ natural beauty.
“Renae is just a really easygoing girl, when you see her
with no make-up on she is
phenomenal,” Towner said.
“She is the Aussie
Bombshell.”
Ayris said her line of work as a model
made it important for her to care for
her skin.
“Because you can get such good fake
tans these days there’s no point sitting
around in the sun,” she said.

national finals for
Miss Universe on
June 8.
Towner launched Aussie
Bombshell two years ago
when she noticed a need for
tanning products that didn’t
rely on harmful methods and
has since expanded the brand
to include other sun-smart
solutions that focus on
promoting positive body
image.
Towner said she had seen
the damage wreaked on
friends who baked in the sun
and wanted to show young
people there were other ways
to get a healthy glow.
“People don’t think of the
repercussions of what they do now and
what their skin is going to be like in
10-20 years time,” she said. “So many
people go towards injectibles like Botox
when they just need to look after their
skin (when they’re young).”
MADONNA SHOOTS THROUGH
M
adonna is set to court controversy yet
again after she was snapped brandishing a
gun during rehearsals for her coming MDNA
tour, below.
Her latest world trek kicks off in Tel Aviv,
Israel, tomorrow and the Material Girl practised
her routines on stage at the Ramat Gan Stadium
at the weekend.
And she’s set to prove she is still as
provocative as ever by shocking fans with one
sequence in which she wields a pistol.
In snaps from rehearsals, the star is seen
aiming the firearm into the crowd, while her
dancers handle machineguns and rifles.
The star’s penchant for pistols famously
caused a stir in 2008 when she donned a pair of
Chanel shoes with gun-shaped heels. The stunt
attracted criticism from British anti-violence
group Mothers Against Murder and Aggression.
The tour also looks set to create headlines for
Madonna singing Lady Gaga’s Born This Way
mixed with her own song, 1989’s Express
Yourself, before finishing the bizarre medley
with lines from one of her other songs, She’s
Not Me. Many critics have noted previously that
Express Yourself sounds similar to Gaga’s Born
This Way.
The 53-year-old will also dirty dance with her
24-year-old back-up dancer boyfriend
Brahim Zaib during a rendition of Erotica
mixed with Candy Shop.

COWELL DENIES
BRITNEY X EXIT
S
imon Cowell has come to Britney
Spears’ defence amid reports she
has been walking off the set of the US
version of The X Factor halfway through
auditions, blaming the media for
spreading false rumours.
The music mogul recently unveiled
Spears, below with Cowell, and
singer/actress Demi Lovato as the new
additions to the US show’s judging
panel and auditions got under way with
tryouts in Austin, Texas, last Thursday.
Reports suggested the star’s first day
as a judge ended in
confusion when she
abruptly left the
room after a
contestant
butchered her
song Hold It
Against Me.
But Spears has
since laughed off
the claims, insisting
she was “just taking a
little break”.
Now Cowell and Lovato have
poked fun at the allegations in a new
video interview for The X Factor
website, joking that it was the former
Disney star who actually stormed off
unexpectedly.
In the footage, Lovato adopts an
English accent and says: “I was like, you
know, tired of Simon, so I had to just,
like, go.”
Cowell then got serious to dismiss the
speculation, telling the interviewer:
“There was no walking off. We have
breaks every five or six songs. You can
go have a cigarette, you can go to the
loo. So as soon as anyone left their
chairs, it was reported that someone
had left the show — and they hadn’t.”
