About Steelforce Australia
In April 2000, a group of proud Australians embarked
on a new venture to establish Steelforce Australia with a
view to bringing a new level of service and integrity to the
Australian Steel market.
In a fast moving market with a lot of sub standard imported
product changing the way business was done, the challenge
was to provide a competitive range whilst ensuring a high
and consistent quality.
In a competitive global market the solution had to involve
offshore sourcing of product, so rather than just purchase
product from overseas companies, a brave move was made
to establish a 100% Australian owned mill at Dalian in
China. This ensured a high degree of technical competence
and importantly ensured consistency of quality and
supply through our ISO 9001 quality accredited mills that
manufacture to Australian and New Zealand standards.
Today, Steelforce is one of the leading distributors of steel
products offering a large range of steel sections from many
convenient locations around Australia and New Zealand.
Steelforce remains a 100% Australian owned company and
employs more than 130 proud Australians.
Our business prides itself on being Australian, it’s people,
stock holdings and commitment to service. We know
and understand the needs of our customers throughout
Australia and New Zealand and work every day to ensure
the best quality at affordable prices is delivered on time.

Galforce™ Range.
Galforce™ Products are light galvanised steel sections that offer the advantage of
better protection against the elements over traditional primer painted products.
Available in flats, angles, channels, square, rectangular, circular and rail sections.
Galforce™ products are manufactured using a fully hot – dip galvanised steel strip.
This means that Galforce hollows are galvanized on the inside as well as the outside.
The entire Galforce™ range is manufactured in a leading edge facility, 100% owned by
Steelforce Australia.
Galforce™ products are manufactured to stringent Australian Standards to comply
with AS/NZS 4972 (section 3) so you’re protected no matter which way you look at it.
Galforce™ is used in a wide variety of applications, limited only by your imagination
and no special processes are required for preparation welding or top coats and can be
powder coated without difficulty.

To calculate the mass of mild steel plate & flat:
Length x Width x thickness x 7850
Eg: For a 10mm plate @ 2400mm x 1700mm
2.4 x 1.7 x 0.01 x 7850 = 320.28kg
For a 200 x 6 flat bar @ 1200mm
1.2 x 0.2 x 0.006 x 7850 = 11.304kg
Note:
* Most price books have an extra 2.5% added
onto the weight of merchant bar as a rolling
tolerance.
* Add 2 kg per square metre for floorplate.
* To calculate the mass of aluminium:
Length x width x thickness x 2710 kg
* To calculate the mass of stainless steel:
Length x width x thickness x 8000 kg
To calculate the mass of black round pipe &
tube per metre:
