Definition
•
Accessibility to public transport has played a leading role in the city of Barcelona because of the campaign “On public transport, Barcelona has no limits", driven by the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities of Barcelona and the company of metropolitan transport TMB. •
We have worked jointly from our corresponding departments of Administration, Communication, Presidency, Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility in order to give shape to a campaign responsive to the needs, the suggestions and the participation of the people with disability.
•
It has consisted of advertisements in metro stations and on buses, radio advertisements, two brochures, advertisements on newspapers and Internet, videos, a website and a specific mailing for users of the special public transport services.
Objectives
•
Announce the measures of existent accessibility, useful for everybody, with disability or not.
•
Spread the profits of the use of the public transport regarding the increase of independence in people with disability. •
Improve the civic responsibility for part of the population.
•
Encourage people with disability to find out how the public transport of Barcelona is adapted to their needs, through a communicative action addressed especially to the users of the special transport services.

4. Participatory street action
•
The campaign started on the 3rd of December, taking advantage of the celebration of the International Day of People with Disability.
•
On that day, fifteen people with disability collaborated with us to kick off the campaign through a symbolic action. •
By means of a mobile application elaborated on purpose for this action, the protagonists of the event got on several bus lines in the city and run the application so that it could record the route of the bus. •
The act was recorded on a video which was issued through different webs and social networks.
5. Workshops on personal autonomy to bus and underground
•
For some years now, TMB offers some workshops to the associations and the people with special needs regarding mobility and/or communication to bring them closer to the underground and the bus and to show them the locations, the vehicles and the different accessibility measures they can find.
•
Assisted by a team of volunteers, the participants can get familiar with these means of transport and enjoy them as handy, safe, pleasant and, especially, useful means for their journeys.
•
During the campaign this service was driven transmitting to users and associations the possibility to request a workshop on autonomy organized especially for the needs of each group.
6. Activities at the halls of the underground stations
