Quite often we have difficulty “seeing” the future. We know its out there but somehow it always seems beyond
our grasp. Owing to the future’s elusive nature, we dismiss any attempt to forecast beyond a very limited time frame.
This bias is deeply embedded in American culture. We are obsessed with the next quarter, the next election,
the next fiscal year, but we seldom think about the next decade, let alone the next twenty five years.
This prejudice is most clearly reflected in the language used to describe the future. The word futuristic often
has pejorative connotations. It has become synonymous with something nebulous and imagined. Ideas such as
rocketing to the Moon, home video machines, laser guns, robots, wireless communications, palm computers,
and gene manipulation, were considered “flights of fancy” in the worst 1950’s sci-fi movies.
Of course, all of the aforementioned “flights of fancy” are now common aspects of modern life. All of these staples of
“science fiction” have spawned multi-billion dollar global industries that have profoundly and irrevocably transformed
human civilization. Yet just four decades ago, they were considered inconceivable.
Clearly, we disregard the future at our own peril. The future demands our attention...

With that, please turn off your cellphones and enjoy the film....

It all started with a glance...

7 years ago, while visiting a music festival in Spain, I met a beautiful and brilliant woman. After an exciting
and romantic courtship, she became my wife, partner and mother of my 5 wonderful boys.
7
That’s me, Jack Bennet, my wife Diane and my sons: Jim, Sam, Danny, Tom and my oldest, Will.
One thing about being a father of 5 boys, time and sleep have become true luxuries...
8
9
I don’t know how she does it, managing
the demands of family while excelling
at her career as an architect.
10
11
Today, we live in a comfortable neighborhood in a suburban town, outside of Phoenix, Arizona.
Not quite 2.5 kids and a white picket fence, but almost...

I work for Lockheed Martin in one of the coolest jobs possible; I travel the world looking for new,
culturally beneficial ways to apply advanced military technology.
Its called the WHOLE EARTH TECHNOLOGY division.
One of my goals for Lockheed is to figure out how our technological prowess
can be used to simplify and enhance life. We all need more TIME...
14
15
Diane and I are always thinking about how Lockheed
can generate enormous profits by applying
its technology to improve humanity

Military technology / IT to clean up oil spills
and other damaging toxins in water
Use of satellite and advanced IT to create
more efficient mining techniques.
47
The next day, Diane finds herself thinking...
54
55
56
Lockheed, Architecture, Homes... better, cleaner, safer life?
57
58
This is our getaway eco-cube house in the country.
I spend time here, designing my buildings.
The cube was built from a recycled shipping
container. Like our main house, is solar powered,
and has advanced communications capability
(complements of Lockheed).
Jack and I have several ideas how Lockheed can
generate enormous profits by applying its technology
to global architecture, real estate and infrastructure.
59
Home building today is energy inefficient and environmentally damaging
60
61
Lockheed has the ability to sell sustainable, eco-smart homes perhaps in
alliance with Toll Bros., the largest home builder in the US

63
How do we leverage the daily global
64
operations of Lockheed to accomplish this?
65
Lockheed eco-friendly, modern home made from
re-purposed shipping container
66
The 2nd fastest growing category of housing in the US
is the mobile home. 15% of US homes are mobile
67
Cool retail store, quick-build research lab, school or communications center
68
The all-purpose shipping container used in global trade,
can also be used as a mobile IT server farm
69
Large buildings account for half the energy we use.
The environmental crisis is also a design crisis.
70
Lockheed knowledge applied to building
construction and design could be the solution.
71
Hundreds of skyscrapers are
currently under construction
across China and the Mid East.
72
Lockheed could:
Sell IT and communicatins systems that make those buildings more efficient
Provide security, both data, communications and physical
Incorporate better materials in the construction of buildings
Form an alliance with the top builders to incorporate forward technology into design
Create a partnership with Bechtel for tech-enhanced infrastructure?
73
On a smaller scale, the cockpit of a fighter
jet is one of the most robust examples of
man-machine interface.
Lockheed could form a think tank to explore
commercially viable, tech-based, POD-cubicle
design ideas.
74
75
Imagine an architectural structure that houses Lockheed Martin’s International University and think tank ...
76
There is a big need for technology based edu-tainment environments
for kids where they learn and have fun. Parents will happily pay.
This kids center in Seoul, Korea is awesome
78
79
Convert old malls into virtual reality training / education centers / theme parks
80
Lockheed JV with Jerde Partnership or
Simon Malls
Lockheed’s pilot virtual reality training simulator
is the best in the world; lets commercialize it...
The most profitable theme park attraction in the world is the Terminator II virtual reality ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.
81
Imagine a theme park powered by Lockheed...
Walt Disney already did, it is called EPCOT CENTER
82
84
Back at home...
85
While enjoing a nice scotch with Diane after a fun night out...
86
87
88
We got very difficult phone call...
89
Diane’s mom has been ill for some time.
We had to make a decision to put her into a retirement home.
90
91
Lockhed retirement and assisted living
With the 70 million, baby boomer bubble rapidly approaching retirement age, there will be a huge need
for health care / retirement homes that allow people to stay in touch with their parents and monitor
their health via technology...
LOCKHEED MARTIN CAN LEAD THE WAY
92
93
For us
94
the journey is about...

love of wife,
97
love of life,

and a never-ending quest for knowledge, excellence, innovation and a bright future for all.
