Minster Series P2 Automatic Production Presses
Standard Features
Frames: High tensile alloy cast iron frames of
four piece tie rod construction are mounted
on separate legs. P2-300 legs integral with
bed.
Openings in legs for conveyors or chutes on
outgoing side only. (Not available on P2-300.)
Drip trough around bed cast inteeral with
bed.
Standard cored opening in bed.
Feed pads on both ends of press.
Press drive may be arranged for feed direc
tion to be from left to right or from right to
left.
Crankshaft: Forged SAE 8645 alloy-steel full
eccentric two point shaft, machined, ground
and roll burnished.
Bearings: All wear points .. . main bearings,
eccentrics, lower connections and ways are
nickel bronze lined and easily replaceable.
Slide: Barrel type slide adjustment having easy
manual operation. Lower connection bush
ings are removable bronze plugs inserted in
connection screws.
Slide is of full box type construction with 8

The following factors control the speed
at which a press may be satisfactorily
operated:
1. Length of stroke for two reasons. First,
the longer the stroke, the greater the off-bal
ance centrifugal force due to the weight of
connection and bearing eccentric. The second

at increased speed. The shorter the stroke—
the faster the speed may be, and the smaller
the press — the faster it is in most cases.

Lubrication: Minster continuous recirculating
oil lubrication on all sizes with oil pumped
under pressure to main and eccentric bear
ings, controlled flow to gibs and counterbal
ances, spray and bath on gears and flood to
lower connections with return from all points
to reservoir in bed for filtering with recircu
lation. High and Low oil pressure protection.
Bolster Plate: One plain cast bolster plate.

nated spacers. Slide flange drilled and tapped

Counterbalance: Two pneumatic slide counter
