Rocio is the daughter of political refugees from Chile, who settled in Swansea in 1977. After attending Cambridge University, she worked in the third sector in London before returning to Swansea to become a sociology teacher, also taking on roles as a Tenancy Support Worker at the Swansea Young Single Homelessness Project and as a researcher at Swansea University.
