R. Crozier, 1952, 1 Bank Street, New York City, four signed
watercolor sketches on paper, with handwritten explanation,
mounted on board, three 11 x 14 1/2 (board additional), the
fourth with two designs mounted side-by-side, 7 1/4 x 10 3/4
in.
Note: Accompanying the illustrations are five typed sheets, the
top sheet an affidavit, dated January 28, 1952, signed by the
artist, the other four descriptions of the name, concept,
mechanical requirements, and promotional possibilities of the
dolls. The designs for the dolls are “Little Bo Peep,” a
phonograph doll that recited nursery rhymes; “Trina, the Model
Doll”; “Wynken, Blynken & Nod,” a bedtime doll; and two
United Nations costume dolls, “Christina” and “Hans.” It seems
likely that these dolls remained prototypes on paper, a fascinating

magazines... infinitely more spirited and independent, yet
altogether feminine. She was poised and patrician. Though
always well bred, there often lurked a flash of mischief in her
eyes.”
