Tour Operators (IAGTO). The nominees

Tournaments held around this region. Pattaya now hosts every
year the Thailand Golf Championship, the Pattaya Open and the
Honda LPGA Thailand Open.

Bangpakong Riverside Country Club was
established in 1990 as the first golf course
in Chacheongsao province areas alongside
Bangpakong Rivers.
Design by a well-known Thai golf course designer
of that era Mr. Chird Boonyaratavej, it is an 18
holes, par 72 golf course set out in parkland type
golf course, with wide fairways and long distance
holes, surrounded by numerous palm trees,
flower beds, lakes and dramatic bunkers.
The course ranges from 5,470 to 7,140 yards in
length. While the course may appear easy on first
impressions, it can turn into a beast once you
encounter a prevailing wind.
Now 20 years have passed and Bangpakong
Riverside Country Club has still kept its original
design layout as its founder original intended.
“A golf course that is challenging but not yet too
difficult, so that everyone can enjoy whatever
their handicap.”
Their signature hole, Hole 4 par 3 210 yards is
a challenging par 3 with lake along the left side
make the hole appear like a crescent moon when
seen from the tee box. The green is guard by three
large bunkers on the left. An exciting challenge!
Bangpakong Riverside Country Club is located
along the Bangpakong River, close to the
Bangna – Trad Highway and is around one hour
from Pattaya. Cool winds here make it a pleasant
course for a round during the hot summer months!

Bangpra Golf Club is the one of
the oldest golf courses in Thailand.
Constructed on a total area of 550
rai, it celebrated it’s 50th anniversary
in 2007. Originally Bangpra Golf
occupied only 9 golf holes however
they added another 9 holes, and
further improvements were assigned
by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Bangpra Golf became well-known
and widely accepted by golfers and
foreign pros as a challenging golf
yardage with some of the most difficult
greens to putt in Thailand. Japanese,
in particular, like to play at Bangpra
Golf, one of their favorite golf courses
in the region. Tourists in particular will
enjoy playing alongside monkeys who
frequent a couple of the holes here!

Panks and the world famous touring professional David

Pattaya Much More
Than Great Golf…
Pattaya not only is a top attraction in Thailand, but its
reputation has also been spread all over the world. Apart
from over 20 top class golf courses, many top international
hotels, there are also a number of natural attractions plus
night clubs, a broad range of restaurants, sports and water
activities, shopping malls and traditional shows.
In between a few rounds of golf you can discover Pattaya
has a lot to offer tourists including visiting the enormous
Buddha Image, seeing the panoramic view of the city
on the hill, or the famous temples around the city. These
attractions truly do interest all visitors, but there also
are a number of attractions that offers visitors different
experiences when traveling Pattaya.

and beautifully wooden building that is impossible to
find anywhere else. Silverlake Winery, Nooch Botanical

St. Andrews 2000 is named in honour of the
venerable St. Andrews in Scotland. St. Andrews
2000 is located in picturesque hilly countryside
in the south-eastern Thai province of Rayong.
The par 74 St. Andrews 2000 was created with a
sweeping Scottish links style course over 7,540
yards of picturesque, rolling countryside. The

Opening in 1993 and renovated in 2011, the Royal Lakeside
Golf Club located at the mouth of the Bangpakong River,
features beautiful surroundings, with a profusion of shrubs
and flowers.
Some holes play right along the Bangpakong river bank,
while others feature a wide lagoon, which encircles
the course. The lagoon provides a useful buffer zone,
protecting the villas on its opposite bank from any
wayward shots.
The riverside setting ensures for cool breezes throughout
the day and golfing enjoyment is enhanced by the
beautiful surrounding. A unique feature of the golf course
is that there is the private marina for yachts, which makes
it possible to reach the golf course by boat from Bangkok
or Pattaya.
New greens constructed in 2011 are of the latest TifEagle.
They are undulated and roll fast and true. Zoysia grassed
fairways always kept in good condition. Often strong
winds from the sea provide a special dimension for the
game rarely experienced in Bangkok.
There is quite an open feel to Royal Lakeside, created
by good-width fairways and light semi-rough that makes
ball-finding relatively easy. The golf course has only subtle
breaks, but significant earth mounding to the sides of the
fairways and around the greens make approach shots
very tricky.
From the 9th tee a small lighthouse marks the entrance
to Royal Lakeside’s marina, while the par-4 5th gives a
wonderful view of another impressive structure - the dome
topped clubhouse. The palatial, Orange dome-topped
clubhouse could be a distant cousin of the White House
in Washington DC.
