Dear Friend,
As one third of the funding for Munsinger/Clemens Gardens comes from private donations, the
Friends of the Gardens non-profit organization is tasked with developing this funding to maintain the
beauty of these incredible area attractions.
In this regard, we have EXCITING news! Friends of the Gardens will be offering annual sponsorships for
each of eight individual gardens, with the intention of maintaining the current, exceptional integrity of the
Gardens. These sponsorship funds will be used for continuing improvements and maintenance of plants
and structures in the Gardens.
This is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness for your organization to over 250,000 people. It also
provides a unique opportunity for families to honor or memorialize a loved one. Please note: sponsorships
are tax deductible, and the personalized sign will be presented to sponsors following the growing season.
We hope you will review the enclosed sponsorship form and join us in being one of the first to participate
in this exciting new program! Let us know if you have questions!
Gratefully yours,
Friends of the Gardens

Virginia Clemens Garden
Developed in 1986 as a gift of love
from Bill Clemens to his wife, Virginia,
Clemens Garden is truly a feast for
the senses. A stroll along the redbrick walkways leads to the featured
gardens available for sponsorship.
The Virginia Clemens Rose Garden
features over 1,000 roses, The Janney
Crane Fountain and the Virginia Clemens
Memorial.
The Formal Garden, with its uniform design
features the Windsor Court Fountain.
The White Garden is modeled after the
White Garden at Sissinghurst Castle in Kent,
England.
The Perennial Garden features cold hardy
perennials and the replica Pre-Civil War
Georgian Fountain.
The Trelliage Garden features a 100-foot
long trelliage with a 20-foot cast-iron arbor
dome, the Three Graces Fountain and color
themed gardens.
Munsinger Garden
A peaceful and tranquil cottage-style
garden, Munsinger Garden, adjacent to the
Mississippi River, showcases shade-loving
plants that thrive under the tall pine and
oak trees of this forested location. Winding,
rock-lined paths lead to the gardens areas
available for sponsorship:
The Lily Pond has drawn the attention of visitors since
the 1930’s. Balancing water features with creative plant
arrangements, it is a historical and unique aspect of
the garden.
Salvia Hill beckons for adventure or peaceful solitude.
The rock outline mixes well with the annual salvia
plantings and provides a perfect setting for pictures.
The Spring Pond, circled with meandering trailing
plants, is an ideal location to saunter in the shade.
