The Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS) supports the Queensland breeding and racing
industry by providing additional prizemoney incentives for connections of QTIS qualified racehorses
through QTIS bonuses.
Providing these additional prizemoney opportunities to qualified thoroughbreds ensures that breeding,
owning and racing a QTIS horse in Queensland is one of the best value for money horse ownership
opportunities in Australia.
2017/18 QTIS FEATURES INCLUDE:
Bonuses across all 2YO & 3YO races held in Queensland (excluding Black Type races)
50% increase to the standard QTIS bonus for 2YO and 3YO fillies who win or place
in a QTIS race
A QTIS filly winning a Saturday Metropolitan QTIS bonus race takes home almost $77K for
her connections
A win in a Midweek Metropolitan QTIS bonus race will see registered colts & geldings net
nearly $20K and fillies over $23K
The winning purse of a QTIS bonus race at a Non-TAB meeting for a registered colt, gelding

The owners of a QTIS qualified horse receive a QTIS bonus when their horse finishes in the top three
placings in any QTIS bonus race.
METROPOLITAN
$35,000 in QTIS bonuses will be allocated to every 2YO and 3YO race (excluding Black Type events) at
every Saturday Metropolitan TAB Meeting.
PROVINCIAL
$12,000 in QTIS bonuses will be allocated to races at Provincial TAB Meetings.

$10,000 in QTIS bonuses will be allocated to races at Metropolitan Midweek TAB Meetings.

In season 2015/16, Royal Tithe amassed the largest
QTIS bonus tally for any 2YO since the scheme’s
introduction.
Recognising the value offered to connections by QTIS
bonuses, trainer John Zielke accrued prize and bonus
money just short of $900,000 from his 2015/16 2YO crop.
In 2016/17, fillies with QTIS registration will again race for
more, with a QTIS filly winning a Saturday Metropolitan
QTIS bonus race taking home almost $77K for
her connections.

ELIGIBILITY A – QUEENSLAND-SIRED
The progeny of any stallion standing in Queensland at the time of conception.
PAYMENT DEADLINES
1. FIRST PAYMENT
• A discounted First Payment of $385 (GST inc) made on or before 5pm, 31 October 2016, OR
• A Late First Payment of $990 (GST inc) if First Payment is made after 5pm, 31 October 2016.
2. FINAL PAYMENT
A payment of $550 (GST inc) made on or before 5pm, 30 June 2017. This assumes a First Payment has
already been made.
To be fully paid up and eligible to win QTIS bonuses, a FIRST and a FINAL payment must be made.
OTHER PAYMENTS (Contact Racing Queensland for these options)
3. FULL PAYMENT
If a First and Final payment have not been made, full payment of $1,540 (GST inc) is required to be
paid by 5pm, 30 June 2017 to fully QTIS register your horse.
4. FINAL LATE ENTRY
Extended opportunity until 5pm, on 31 July 2017 – if previous payments have not been received a
late entry payment of $5,000 (GST inc) will fully register your horse. Without exception, there will be
no extension beyond this time.
ELIGIBILITY B – BREEDBACK
Foals out of a dam that is covered by a Queensland domiciled stallion the season immediately
subsequent to the foal’s birth.
PAYMENT DEADLINES
1. FIRST PAYMENT
• A discounted First Payment of $770 (GST inc) made on or before 5pm, 31 October 2016, OR
• A Late First Payment of $1,980 (GST inc) if First Payment is made after 5pm, 31 October 2016.
2. FINAL PAYMENT
A payment of $1,110 (GST inc) made on or before 5pm, 30 June 2017. This assumes a First Payment has
already been made.
To be fully paid up and eligible to win QTIS bonuses, a FIRST and a FINAL payment must be made.

3. FULL PAYMENT
If a First and Final payment have not been made, full payment of $3,080 (GST inc) is required to be
