Goriška, a sunny landscape in the extreme western part of Slovenia,

The green Vipava Valley enchants every time with its marvellous vineyards,
meadows and fields, interwoven between each other; it is a home of two
greatest specialities, Pinela and Zelen. These are old wine varieties, which are
being once again discovered and appreciated by the world of gourmets.
In addition, the hilly Brda are renowned not only for their cultural jewels, such
as Dobrovo Castle and the mediaeval town of Šmartno, but also for sweet fruits
(especially cherries) and for top-quality wines (Rebula); all of these mean an
irreplaceable experience in towns and villages with a turbulent past.
The rocky Karst boasts with the tradition of the stony architecture of the past
centuries, delicious prosciutto, which matures and dries in the Bora wind, and
Teran with its unique character among red wines.
The heart of the Goriška Region is the young town of Nova Gorica, established
after World War II, and which has been developing into a tourist and
entertainment town over the last two decades.
Since Slovenia’s integration into the EU, the town was reunited with its

border. The unique example of both Goricas stirs up the interest all around the
world; a witness to the union of these towns is an interesting mosaic on the
square next to the railway station.
Nova Gorica is an excellent starting point for memorable experiences in Slovenia
and Italy, since the sea (Trieste, Miramare) and the Friuli Region (Cividale, Udine)

Destination Kobarid
In the upper flow of the Soča River, the most beautiful European river, which
draws attention to itself with its unique emerald colour and very unusual
liveliness, lies the pleasant town of Kobarid. Surrounded by majestic peaks of
the Julian Alps, alpine meadows and mountain villages it is the perfect place
for sport enthusiasts, who love hiking, mountain biking, running, paragliding,
climbing, in short who like sport and nature in general.

In the immediate vicinity of Kobarid runs the Nadiža River, one of the cleanest and
warmest Alpine rivers, which is suitable for swimming in the summer, and according to
folklore it has healing properties.
Kobarid is also known for the First World War especially after the Isonzo Front (Soška
fronta) and the famous battle known as “the Miracle of Kobarid”, of which clearly
testifies the Kobarid Museum with its rich collection of the First World War.
Despite its smallness and graciousness, the village boasts a large number of top
restaurants that attract lovers of high cuisine and connoisseurs of fine wines from all
over.
Kobarid is a true mountain paradise, as the great Slovenian poet Simon Gregorčič called

Winter
The main winter offer comprises various ski slopes, which are adjusted to the
beginners, experienced skiers and snowboarders. The ski slopes spread from
Kranjska Gora to Planica, ranging from 800 to 1,215 m above sea level, which
are connected with a system of 5 chair lifts and 13 cable railways. There are
40 km of trails for cross-country skiing and an ice rink in the town centre.
You can experience the unforgettable moments also by climbing up the iced
waterfalls, by hiking during the day and at night across snow-covered landscape
in snowshoes, and in the panoramic drive with a sledge.
Kranjska Gora is renowned worldwide for its two international sports events, such
as the Vitranc Cup – Alpine Skiing World Cup and the Ski Jumping World Cup
in Planica.

Destination Maribor
Maribor is the capital of the Štajerska region and the second largest city in
Slovenia set in the wonderful nature of Pohorje on one side and wine growing
hills on the other, with the Drava River winding its way through it.

The healing powers of water were known even before the first written
testimony by many locals and also travellers, who spread the news about the
magical healing powers of the water throughout Štajerska and further on. The
first written testimony dates back to 1572, when the famous alchemist from
Frankfurt, Lenhardt Thurneysser, published in his work Pison the first mineral
water analysis from one of the springs not far from the Church of the Holy Cross.
Today many believe that the springs were discovered by a Croatian ban Peter
Zrinjski, one of the most powerful land owners in Europe in that period. In 1665
he was supposed to be hunting in the area of Rogaška Slatina. He suffered from
kidney failure so the local farmers told him to drink from the spring in the forest,
near the Church of the Holy Cross. Zrinjski’s health miraculously improved and
along with it brought fame to the so called holy-cross mineral water.
In 1908, under the leadership of a geologist and a spring inspector from Karlovy
Vary, Dr. J. Knetta, the most mineralised water was found and named Donat. Due
to the high content of magnesium DONAT MG is a unique healing mineral
water, which helps prevent and cure metabolic diseases.
Rogaška Slatina boasts a centuries-long glassworks tradition. Steklarna

in its field the Rogaška trademark ranks at the highest level both in price, quality
as well as in innovation regarding the form of products.
Destination Sarajevo
Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its largest
cultural and economic centre. The city is characterized by two rivers namely

year the city on the Miljacka River hosts a series of cultural festivals of international
character, including the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), the Sarajevo Jazz Festival, a
summer cultural festival “Bascarsija Nights”, the International Theatre Festiva “MESS”,
the “Sarajevo Winter Festival” and the World Television Festival of Oriental Music.
In Sarajevo has its headquarters the largest higher education institution in the
country, the University of Sarajevo, and a number of other higher education
institutions, making it one of the largest university centres throughout the region
of Southeast Europe.
