Anaerobic pre-treatment unit –
Grease Extractor (optional)
When the septic tank EPURBLOC is over 10 metres
from the building and for private use exclusively
Description
• Only used household water (kitchen, bathrooms, washrooms…) is
permitted into the Grease Extractor via the inlet baffle (IN), which is
detachable and can be removed through the manhole Ø 400 mm or the
threaded riser REHC riser REHC (optional and sold separately):
1
- reducing the inlet flow of used household water
- avoiding the re-suspension of floating matter and heavy,
Grease Extractor
solid matter
SL-SG 500
• The used household water now calmed by the inlet baffle (IN) with
overspill and vents 6 x Ø 35 mm moves through the Grease Extractor,
which separates:
- the grease and floating matter which solidify and float to the surface
to form a hat (surface crust).
- from the sludge and solid matter that deposit on the bottom of the Grease Extractor.
• Outlet baffle (OUT), which by design, collects and channels pre-filtered used household water towards the septic tank,
the settling tank, the clarification tank, the ÉPURBLOC® or, exceptionally, with the rehabilitation of an existing separate
sewage treatment system, directly to the pre-filter (SL-FD).
• Fermentation gas is vented by decompression holes (inlet and outlet) then by the obligatory Higher Ventilation (VH) Ø
110 mm. Sotralentz suggests slotting Higher Ventilation (VH) into the inlet (IN) of the Grease Extractor (upstream) and
not the outlet (OUT) of the Grease Extractor (downstream) (see user manual A24).
• Monobloc tank with inlet (IN) and decompression holes, slot for
Higher Ventilation (VH) and an outlet baffle (OUT)
• Grease Extractors are obligatory with separate sewage
treatment systems
• Required with a septic tank or Epurbloc® CE stamped are
situated more than 10 m from the building
• Tank to be filled with clear water before start up and after
drainage

filtering material, detachable and nondecomposable
“Performance” advantages
Filtering Material is light (less than 2 kg);
• Hydraulic efficacy, limited waste (see user manual A24);
• Beads PP allowing optimal diffusion of pre-treated wastewater;
• Organic matter contained in the pre-treated household wastewater
is trapped by fins on the beads where they stick on contact. A biomass
is formed by the growth of aerobic bacteria on the organic matter;
• The biomass film does not exceed a thickness of 1 mm and its mass
oscillates between 6 and 22 kg/m3;
• Filtering material is integrated into all « Performance »
Main Pre-treatment Units and Secondary treatment Units, so no
forgetting to fit one during installation;
• Easy to monitor, no material to remove;
• Riser and clogging indicator stay in place during maintenance as the
pre-filter and filtering material are removable;
• Threaded riser fit directly on the Epurblocs® and Clarifications tanks;
• Easy removal of the integrated Pre-filter in order to clean filtering
material in the threaded REHC 400/200 risers;
• Material and filtering element are non-decomposable,
for unlimited use;
• Pre-filter is watertight even to streaming water.
The “Performance”
filtering material is
integrated into the
Epurblocs
“Performance”and
Clarification tanks,
detachable and nondecomposable.
7. Ejection of pre-treated household wastewater
towards final aerobic purification (drainfield,
filter bed…)
8. Slot of GAS Extraction for direct connection
Higher Ventilation (VH) Ø 110 min. to vent fermentation gas with the aide of a static exhaust
above the roof apex and with a ventilation slot
at the unit’s inlet (see user manual A24)

• Insensitive to normal temperature variations and to water volume
load;
• Simple to transport and install almost anywhere;
• Made in a single piece, with double welding, these units are nondeformable and resistant to very large pressures, ground
movements or welling ground water as well as large loads of
backfill thanks to the cellular structure of the exterior double skin;
• Unique shape that uses soil pressure to give additional stability and
resistance, as shown by CERIB tests in situ (see user manual A24);
• Made with Very High Molecular Weight HDPE material, increasing
resistance even more and eliminating any porosity;
• Placement without pre-filling;
• Compression resistance as shown in empty testing and tests by
CERIB to obtain the CE stamp;
• The result of nearly 25 years of expertise in the technique of
extrusion blowmoulding of polyethylene HDPE VHMW, the new
Double Skin system gives incomparable solidity and guaranteed
watertightness.
Thick external surface
with cellular structure.
Thick, smooth internal surface
• Produced by extrusion blowmoulding of HDPE-VHMW with thick
surfaces (6 layers of HDPE) Double Skin and double welding (HDPE);
• Life expectancy well above equivalents units in concrete or
polyester;
• Homogeneity of HDPE-VHMW guarantees almost zero degradation
and thus all porosity.
• Smooth internal surface (air pockets in the external skin)
preventing any degradation, contrary to « classic » units made of
concrete (degradation of concrete by sulphurous anhydride), or
polyester (degradation of resins and fibres through osmosis)

Self-contained, grouped pre-treatment
Settling + Clarification tank
The succession of a settling tank, receiving 2/3 of the volume of all wastewater (decanting
sludge and suspension of floating matter), followed by a clarification tank, receiving 1/3 of the
volume of all wastewater (secondary decant of sludge and re-suspension of remaining floating
matter) improved the performance of Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Plants.

Description
• Principally destined to reduce the concentration of Suspended Solids (SS) that happen to come through the All
Water septic tank as well as reducing the Biochemical Oxygen Demand over 5 days (BOD5)
• Pre-treated household wastewater coming from the septic tank or from a self-contained, grouped installation
(e.g.: FS Settling tank + EPURBLOC® + SL-FD) enters via the inlet baffle (IN) onto the filtering material
(“Performance” filtering material) in order to retain any Suspended Solids (SS).
• Evacuation is caused by the siphoning effect (high inlet IN/high outlet OUT) of the anaerobic system, thus
ensuring a flow of less concentrated (in SS) pre-treated wastewater to a purification element or another
solution determined by the nature of the soil, type of treated water outlet, by regulation laws.
• Slot of GAS Extraction for direct connection Higher Ventilation (VH). Sotralentz recommends slotting the Higher
Ventilation (VH) into the inlet (IN) of the pre-filter (upstream) and not the outlet (OUT) of the pre-filter
(downstream) (see user manual A24).
• Monobloc tank with high inlet (IN) and the high outlet baffle (OUT) with decompression vents and inspection
cover, which can be fitted to the riser REHC (sold separately)
• Pre-filter fitted with “Performance” filtering material and filled with clear
water before use.
• Secondary treatment Units are delivered with the EAN 13 barcode E .
Option :
• “Performance” pre-filter fitted with filtering meshes
“Performance” integrated, detachable and non-decomposable
• A pre-filter is obligatory where the CE stamped septic tank or settling
tank is not fitted with a integrated removable clogging indicator or in
grouped Non-mains Sewage and Wastewater Disposal systems.

For any user living in a private or co-owned house, in a hotel or on a
camping site, with a limited area of land and un-connectable to the
mains sewage network, Actibloc® is the ideal solution. A sand filter
bed is unnecessary, the burial area is reduced and the two main
points to take into account are unequalled efficiency coupled with
infrequent maintenance

• Independent installation as no electrical energy is required
• Little maintenance, periodic servicing every 3 months and possible rinsing of baffles required (see user manual A24).
• Increased performance of aerobic treatment and life span of the system.
• Monobloc tank with calm water inlet (IN), slot for gas extraction to direct connection to Higher Ventilation
(VH)(see user manual A24) and one or two low outlets (OUT) fitted with a fixed auto-flushing doser with 1- or 2way outlets
• Sequential dosing tanks SL-CHAS 200 & 500 equipped with a fixed auto-flushing doser.
• Sequential dosing tanks SL-CHAS 800 equipped with an auto-flushing doser which can be regulated to alter the

2 steps of how the dosing tank works
• Only pre-treated and grilled water can enter the sequential dosing
tank, by the inlet baffle (IN) which reduces flow speed to avoid resuspension of floating matter and heavy solids
• The stilled pre-treated and grilled water is stored in the tank of the
sequential dosing tank. Suspended Solids (S.O.M.) deposits on the
bottom of the unit (to empty periodically).
• During tank auto-flushing a high-flow dose flows out into the aerobic
treatment device.
• Outlet baffle (OUT), by design, ensures the distribution of pre-treated
water across the whole drainfield or filter bed
• Gas pressure and pressure in the distribution network are regulated by
a pressure release value to avoid pressurization of the network

The “Performance” Compact Filter
Aerobic treatment unit of pre-treated household wastewater
Total surface area less than 10 m2 for a system of 4 PE
Description
Compact filter 2500 l.
4-6 PE
Comprising a monobloc tank with a control and aeration chamber.
Made by extrusion-blowmoulding of high-density polyethylene,
comprising:
• On the top section, a distribution pipe and a plate distributing
the pre-treated wastewater over the entire surface of the
synthetic filtering materials (PP)
• On the central section, a body of synthetic filtering materials (PP)
loosely placed to enable cleaning and replacement
• On the bottom section, an arm supporting the synthetic filtration
material (PP) and the collect drains which collect and outlet the
treated wastewater
• An upper inlet (IN)
• A static extractor
• Two columns for lower ventilation with hats
• A drainage tube integrated when cleaning the filtering material
• A collection and aeration chamber, with integrated perforated
sampling cover
• A lower outlet (OUT) with a shut-off valve for de-clogging and
cleaning
• Risers and inspection covers
• Stiffeners
• Handling grips
Operation
or description, installation, operation, maintenance and
guarantees of Main Pre-treatment Units, Secondary treatment Units and Accessories, see our user manual A24.
The pre-treated domestic wastewater flows first to the “Performance”
Epurbloc, then to the FD “Performance” pre-filter, and is then stocked
in the sequential dosing tank. From there, the distribution pipe and
plate distribute the pre-treated wastewater in a consistent and
sequential manner over the entire surface of the synthetic filtering
materials. The pre-treated wastewater flows by gravity over the filtering
body, in which is embedded a layer of aerobic bacteria, completing the
oxidation and purification processes. This oxidation is possible because:
• Fresh air can enter via the aeration chamber and the two lower
ventilation columns upstream of the filter by atmospheric pressure
• An optimal circulation of air in the filter and its synthetic filtering
materials is achieved by the static extractor positioned at the centre
of the unit, drawing in air via the aeration chamber and expelling
polluted air and gases
Advantages
• Light
• Hydraulic efficacy, limited waste
• Beads allow optimal diffusion of pre-treated wastewater.
• Fins on the surface of the beads capture organic matter contained
Compact filter 3500 l.
6-8 PE
in domestic wastewater; they hook matter on surface contact.
Organic matter forms a biomass due to the development of aerobic
bacteria.
• Biomass film does not exceed a thickness of 1 mm and weight
oscillates between 6 and 22 kg/m3.
• Suggested working temperature between 5 and 35°C allowing an
optimal degradation of matter and reduction of the BOD
(Biochemical Oxygen Demand) as contact time allows for optimal
oxidation of matter
• Filtering materials are integrated into Compact Filters, so no
forgetting to install them during first operation.
• Low investment and operation costs
• Ease of inspection for the ANC (SPANC) public services
• Riser stays in place during maintenance
• Non-decomposable filtering materials, unlimited usage
• Compact Filter is watertight to streaming water;
• The installation’s useful surface area is reduced
(less than 10 m2 for 4 inhabitant-equivalents).
Installation of Compact filter
• Epurbloc® “Performance”, CE stamped, then FD pre-filter “Performance”, then Dosing tank and finally Compact Filter, installed buried on a bed of stabilised sand
(dry mix of 1 m3 sand to 200kg of cement), anchored with the “Plantco” fixation kit and backfilled with stabilised sand. Plan to anchor unit to a slab placed on
stabilised sand when in presence of a high water table.
• System 1 of 4-6 PE = Epurbloc® 3000 + FD 500 + CHAS 200 + Compact 2500.
• System 2 of 6-8 PE = Epurbloc® 4000 + FD 800 + CHAS 200 + Compact 3500.

• Advised working temperature between 5 and 35°C allowing an
wastewater through the vertical filter.
• Organic matter contained in domestic wastewater is trapped by
fins on the beads where they stick on contact. A biomass is
formed by the growth of aerobic bacteria on the organic matter.
