Chapter 14 is all about handlebars and everything
that's bolted to the handlebars such as grips,
levers, control cables, risers, handlebar clamps and
much more. No matter if you are looking for a
stock replacement or custom handlebar in
diameters from 1”, 1 1/4” or 1 1/2” thick you will
find them in this section. This section also shows
various types of handlebar controls. Stock
replacement controls, custom style controls as well
as billet aluminum controls from Zodiac,
Performance Machine and Kustom Tech. If you
can't find what you want, also check the Arlen
Ness controls in chapter 25 of this catalog. New
Products introduced in this catalog are numerous
new handlebars from Biltwell, loads of different
riser designs and various styles billet aluminum
hand controls from Rebuffini.

CLIMAX HAND CONTROLS BY CUSTOM CYCLE
CONTROL SYSTEMS
The biggest concern in building a custom motorcycle, or dressing up
a stock one, is keeping every aspect of the project clean. It does not
make sense to build everything as clean as possible and still have
wires, cables and hoses hanging off the handlebars. Zodiac has solved
this problem by introducing Custom Cycle Control Systems’
completely assembled Climax Handlebar Controls. The clutch and
brake fluid reservoirs are totally undetectable yet easily accessible
under the grips. Choose from different styles of 1 1/4” (31.75 mm)
handlebars that accommodate stock to full-blown chopper
applications, or make your own handlebars and use the Climax Hand
Control Only system. Different gauge options and grip choices make
each handlebar a unique custom look and solve the “clean
handlebar” dilemma with 1 complete package. All Climax Hand
Controls and Climax Handlebar/ Control systems come fully
assembled and ready to install and include the following features:

The “H1” measurement is the height to the tip of the grip.
The “H2” measurement is the height to the center-line of the bar.
The pullback “p/b” is measured from the center-line between the
risers to the grip tip.
The width is from grip-tip to grip-tip.
Note: Due to the variety of Climax Hand Control Systems these control
systems are build to order. Allow a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks for
building and shipping. All Climax Handlebar Control Systems have a
1 year limited warranty. Use the “In-line” slave cilinder (ZPN 734405)
if you want to use the Climax Handlebar Control Systems with a cable
clutch.

CCCS CLIMAX HAND CONTROLS ONLY (NO
HANDLEBARS)
Complete Hidden Internal Motorcycle Hand Controls, includes
everything except the handle bars and riser mount kit. Fits
1 1/4” (31.75 mm) handle bars only (no neck downs). The control
slides in 1 3/4” (4.5 cm) on the handle bars, and make up an extra
additional 7” (18 cm) of length. Use our 11/4” Hollow Riser Mount
Kit (ZPN 734406) for custom made handlebars.

These perfectly balanced 6 bend bars are specifically designed for
touring models with bat wing fairing such as Street Glides and all
the Electra Glides. They give the bike a totally badass stance and
are incredibly comfortable on long trips. They sit 13” (33c m) tall
with a 39” (99 cm) spread. They are chrome plated, pre-drilled for
internal wires and are 1” in diameter. The coolest part is they fit all
applications including 2008 to present fly-by-wire models!

bars for your model too! Paul wanted to lend all the chopper styling
and attitude he could to the Road King platform so he took a set of
his classic Monkey Bars, widened them a couple of inches, fit to a
Road King and WHAM... instant attitude adjustment! These bars
completely change the look and ride of any Road King and also fit all
other 1986 to present Harley Models. They measure 9” (23cm) tall
and have a 32” (81 cm) spread. They are chrome plated, pre-drilled

Z-BARS
There is no handlebar with the looks of a Zodiac Z-bar. Zodiac's Zbars are available in normal 1" (2.54 cm) diameter as well as in the
"Fat Bubba" 1 1/4" (3 cm) diameter. The Fat Bubba version has 1"
diameter ends to allow the installation of regular handlebar controls
and is dimpled to route the switch wire looms. As with all our Fat
Bubba handlebars, the fat section has a flatted spot for your brake
master cylinder. The 1" diameter Z-bar comes undimpled.

1" (2,54 CM) TRIPLE CHROME PLATED
HANDLEBARS
Changing the handlebars is the easiest way to change the look of
your motorcycle. Zodiac stocks the widest selection of chrome
handlebars on the market. For each model there are several triple
chrome plated handlebars available for both early (thru 1981) as
well as late (1982 to present) models. Late models have dimples
for the wiring.All handlebars have Mandrel bends, your guarantee
for perfect symmetrical looks and a constant diameter throughout
the bar. More difficult to make but worth it, because of their rich,
smooth show bike appearance

FEHLING HANDLEBARS
High quality handlebars from the German manufacturer Fehling, designed for style and comfort to put your bike above the crowd. The use of
a computer-operated bending machine ensures the exact symmetry of each handlebar. Nearly all Fehling handlebars are TÜV approved with
1” (2,54 cm) diameter. Handlebars are available in various models in either high quality chrome or black powder coated: without dimples for
up to 1982 Harley models, and with dimples for 1982 to present Harley models. Some models are available “slotted”, to allow you to guide
all wiring through handlebar and risers. Please note that this requires large diameter risers, and hollow studs. There is a wide variety of styles
available, but remember, with any Fehling handlebar you are ready to race, chase, cruise and show.

TOURING MODELS
Roland Sands initially designed these handlebars to allow installation
on fairing equipped Touring models, but they will fit on numerous
other applications as well. Available in black powder coated or with
a chrome finish. Handlebars are slotted, knurled and drilled for
internal wiring and stock or aftermarket hand controls. The stylish
multi-hole drilled corner gussets offer strength and rigidity. Removable
chrome billet end caps are included. Handlebars listed for 2008 to
present Touring models are fully compatible with the Fly-By-Wire
electronic throttle control.
"ROLAND SANDS DESIGN" FLAT OUT DRAG BARS
Designed by Roland Sands for those with the full throttle syndrome.
Bars are 1" in diameter to accept stock and aftermarket hand controls.
Knurled, slotted and drilled for internal wiring.These drag bars feature
TIG welded integrated risers that are bored 3 1/2" on center with
1/2-13 UNC thread, which allows fitting on most stock Harley
applications from 1974 to present. Matching billet aluminum risers
that lift these bars with 2 1/4" are separately available in chrome or

HANDLEBARS AND CONTROLS FOR OLD STYLE
SPRINGER FORKS
Steel old style handlebars for Springer forks. These handlebars are
exact reproductions of the 1936 & 1946 OEM springer handlebars.
Manufactured for internal throttle and ignition cables and are predrilled and tapped for stock style handlebar switches. Available in
black powder coat or chrome finish. Handlebars come in 3 different
models, “Speedster”, “Standard”, and “Buckhorn. The 1936 model
handlebars will fit the stock style “in-line” Springer forks, as well as
our Wide Springer, found elsewhere in this catalog. The

The internal throttle control is back again, in
particular for customizers that want a clean
looking handlebar. For those in search of
even cleaner looks we now have a matching
twistgrip style internal clutch control kit.You
will have to cut your handlebar and drill and
tap 3 holes to install. Works with Custom
made clutch cables. The inner grip rolls on
two needle bearings, whilst the plunger
features a very small roller bearing, all in
order to get a very smooth operation. Has

ERGONOMIC HANDLEBAR SWITCHES FOR 1996 TO
PRESENT MODELS
These ergonomic switches are for use on 1996 to present bikes with
the rounded handlebar controls.The contoured switch rockers provide
easier operation and improved recognition, even when wearing
gloves. Switches feature better water resistance for improved
reliability in wet weather conditions. Switches come completely prewired with color-coded 48” long wiring harness for easy installation.
Available in Chrome with black lettering or black with white lettering,
Chrome with combined black symbols, or black with white symbols
in complete kits. According to the latest European type approval
regulations switches with symbols must be used on new motorcycles.
Lettered switches are also available individually. Kits include wire
terminals, mounting screws and instructions.Available for 1996 thru
2006 models and 2007 to present models. The 2007 to present
version has an extra switch on the clutch lever that operates the clutch
interlock system. Kits do not fit models with radio controls.

Beringer’s brake master cylinder is a true high-tech development with
its radial placed hydraulics and the hand lever rolling on 3 ball
bearings to reduce friction. This combination provides maximum
braking power with the least hand force. The piston diameter is

PM HANDLEBAR MASTER CYLINDERS
The master cylinder is the key component to any disc brake system.
The PM master cylinder mounted, adjusted and bled properly will
ensure that your disc brake will work to its fullest potential and will
perform stop after stop. PM masters cylinders are a complement to
any PM caliper but also work with stock or other after market calipers.
They have a mirror shine polished finish. Master cylinders are available
as a stock replacement for 1973 thru 1983 models that accept the
stock style switch housing (not included), a 1984 thru 1995 style that
includes the clamp as well as PM’s Custom style master cylinder.
Matching style clutch lever assemblies and levers are also available.
PM also has a matching style master cylinder for hydraulic clutch
available. Brake master cylinders are available with 3/4 bore, clutch
master cylinders have 5/8” bore.

handlebars. Switch works for turn signal.
starter, horn, kill or hi-low, must be used with
a switch relay. Requires a 9/32” hole and
5/16” UNF nut. Switch is less than 1/2” in
diameter and sticks only 1/4” above the
handlebar surface. Of course you can also
install this switch on flat surfaces when you
do not use the radius shaped spacer.
Installation requires a 9/32” drill and a 5/1624 UNF tap. Switch comes with two

The “Fly By Wire” throttle control system as introduced on the
2008 Touring models replaces the commonly used throttle and idle
cables. Installation of higher or wider than stock handlebars requires
you to extend the OEM wiring. For this purpose we supply ready to

what throttle, idle or clutch cable style and stock length you need for
your model and than choose a cable from the cable listing.The lengths
given are approximately and measured end to end of the visible outer
cable and do not include the end fittings.
Throttle and idle cables come with 90 or 130 degree elbows. The
90 degree elbows add approx. 3 1/2” to the cable length, 130 degree
elbows add approx. 5” to the cable length. Do not mix 90 and
130 degree elbows for throttle and idle on the same motorcycle.
