O’Toole’s Herb Farm Autumn Herbal Events 2015 [email protected] www.otoolesherbfarm.com Madison, Florida 850-973-3629 A dream come true visit to Giverney, France. Donna & B on top of Goat Fell, Isle of Arran, Scotland Roosevelt Oliver twenty five years with the Herb Farm soon to retire. Ah! Do I feel a little change in the air? The humidity, heat, bugs and weed-growth of our ‘longest summer’ are about to dissipate and the desire to seek the sanity and sweetness of the garden will return. The magic of Fall in the deep South delights us all! With that seasonal change brings the return of activities at the farm. Late Spring and Summer were filled with wonderful travels and adventure. A magical trip to Europe was the highlight. Wonderful time spent with Monday Volunteer, Dot Bacot in Brugges, Belgium, and a dream come true visit to Paris and Giverney, France. Many trips to the cool of the Western North Carolina Mountains made the heat of this summer bearable. Lots of good company and good times were shared. Great trip out West is planned for this Fall with friends from Native Nurseries. Other changes are in the air at O’Toole’s. The farm’s five year transition plan will be coming to an end January 1, 2016. Roosevelt Oliver, who has been the most wonderful and faithful employee, will be retiring. I am sure he will be around as there is always a lot to be done on the farm. The pressure of ‘greenhouse production’ for wholesale will be eliminated but Monday Volunteers will still come. Friday Yoga in the Heartspace and the occasional workshop/special event will still happen for as long as folks are interested in participating. The greenhouse (retail sales) and the garden will be open by appointment. Exciting times ahead!
