It Is Election Time Again. The Nominating Committee has accepted the applications of five candidates for three expiring seats on the WPOA Board of Trustees. Their photos and resumes/summaries are published here and will also be part of the ballot packet that will be mailed to property owners in late October. Please take the time to read these and learn something about these fine folks who are willing to spend untold hours of time and disrupt their lives in order to serve their community and their neighbors. For the WRWSD Board, two candidates, both current Trustees, have applied for the two expiring seats, and each will be appointed to a new term by acclamation. Congratulations Betty Purdin and Charles Beard, and thank you for your service to Lake Waynoka. Please, don’t forget to vote. It is important! Thank you. Anna Clark, Nominating Committee Background: Homeowner at Lake Waynoka for 14 years. 1985 Graduate of NKU with Computer Science and Business major. Experience: Currently own a welding supply company started in 1985 from scratch-with $9M in sales today. Roles include operations management, personnel, asset requisition and management, purchasing, marketing and sales. Responsible for budgeting and P&L statements and understand all aspects of accounting and financial statements. Benefit to Board and Lake Waynoka: I have continually updated my knowledge of in formation management and computers all through my business career and have person ally developed several websites for e-commerce and online database (catalog) applica tions. The focus of my business is the client experience—if I were to serve on the Board, I would take the same approach. With my business experience/knowledge combined with Brian Buckley my computer and accounting skills, I feel that I could help Lake Waynoka become a better place than it already is. My name is Tom Koch (pronounced "cook”), and I am asking for your support in voting to elect me to the WPOA Board of Trustees. My wife of 47 years, Judy, and I have been property owners since 2007. I have been an employee of the City of Cincinnati for 32 years and have experience in managing people and situations. As a former property owner at Williamstown Lake in Kentucky, known for its high boating traffic, I am very concerned about ensuring safe use of watercraft on our lake through improved security and enforcement of our existing rules. I believe in fiscal responsibility, spending our limited funds wisely and believe that as a Property Owner’s Association, each and every property owner should be heard and equally represented by their elected Board. With Thomas Koch your vote, I would be most honored to do so as your Trustee. Waynoka News - 13 My name is Pete Levermore. From our very first day as members in 2012, my wife Sue and I have been excited to be a part of the Lake Waynoka community. Many years ago as an Eagle Scout, I learned the importance of taking an active part in one’s community. In later years and throughout my many career assignments as an Architectural Engineer, I have tried to stay true to that value. In 2016 as we make the Lake our full-time resi dence, we want to give back by participating in any way we can to help ensure Lake Waynoka’s continuing prosperity. Hence I present myself for your consideration for election to the WPOA Board of Trustees. As your Trustee, I offer you the best thing I Peter Levermore have to offer, my personal commitment to work hard for the benefit of all Lake Waynoka members. Thank you for your support. Walter Shields Background: Born in Scotland, raised in Northern Ohio. Lived in 7 states and in many types of communities, including gated. Moved to Lake Waynoka February 2013. Experience: Working full time at Kiswel USA Inc., a manufacturer in Florence, Kentucky. Job title of General Manager, Marketing and Sales Manager. US Army Veteran, Helicopter Instructor Pilot, Chief Warrant Officer. Combat Pilot Viet-Nam. Benefit to the Board and Lake Waynoka: Using my management and people skills to further the appeal of Lake Waynoka. Lending my support for a rational approach to costs and future development. My present corporate position allows me great flexibility to work for Lake Waynoka. I wish to give back to a great community. My name is Judy Yannone, and I am asking for your vote for me to represent you as WPOA Trustee. My husband and I have been full-time residents since building our retirement home at Lake Waynoka over five years ago and have enjoyed being mem bers of this community. My qualifications for the role of Trustee stem primarily from my 35-year career in the healthcare industry during which I was involved in numerous business projects, including improving quality at multiple hospitals. As your Trustee, I would concentrate on representing your concerns and improving mutual respect and com munications between Trustees and members. Other areas needing focus, I believe, are improving our current facilities and roads, developing a plan to improve traffic flow at the back gate, expanding options for the payment of dues and growing our wonderful community. Thank you for your consideration and vote. Judith Yannone Waynoka News - 14 NOVEMBER Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday 1 2 3 4 Open Gym Adult Sun.
