This personal challenge demands that a girl scout use her leadership, determination, and creativity to meet a community need for which she has a passion and a will to create a sustainable change. These visits are valuable to students since the representatives read and act on the applications that are submitted to their schools. BOULDER HIGH STUDENT’S ESSAY PUBLISHED IN NEW BOOK The new book, She’s Out There! 35 Women Under 35 Who Aspire to Lead: The Next Generation of Presidential Candidates, features 35 essays written by the future female leaders of America. With the help of the nonprofit organization The White House Project, the editors collected essays from hundreds of young women nationwide. One of the essays chosen for publication was written by Boulder High sophomore, Erin Kirton. Kirton’s essay, written when she was 13, discusses the impact of U.S. policies on energy, genocide, and America’ s reputation worldwide, as well as how policies like Title IX have affected her life. Barnes and Noble in Boulder will be hosting a book signing with Ms. Kirton on July 18 at 1:00 P.M.
