Over 25 years ago Farouk Shami had a vision to create a
healthier working environment for the hairdresser and salon

For the textured look, apply BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift prior to drying
the hair. Using a CHI TOUCH Hair Dryer, project hair towards the front of

massaging the product into root area for maximum lift and support. Finish style
with BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Texturizing Powder.
For smooth results, apply BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift. Using a CHI
TOUCH Hair Dryer, dry interior area of hair with a medium round brush.
For the exterior area, dry hair using a vent brush and then use a CHI G2

For the textured look, apply BioSilk Volumizing
Therapy Styling Foam prior to drying hair with a
CHI TOUCH Hair Dryer. Use CHI 44 Iron Guard
and then curl hair with a CHI Turbo 1” Curling
Iron. Utilize the oblong technique by starting
at the crown area and working with diagonal
partings until you reach the front of the hairline.
Then, work backwards towards the crown area.
The effect creates a wave pattern. After setting
hair, apply CHI Twisted Fabric combined with a
drop of CHI Silk Infusion. For added volume, use
BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift.
For smooth results, apply CHI Straight Guard.
Using a CHI TOUCH Hair Dryer, dry hair forward
with a vent brush. Apply a few drops of CHI Silk
Infusion and then use a CHI G2 Hairstyling Iron
on the blue setting. Finish look with a drop of CHI
Pliable Polish and CHI Infra Enviro 54 Hair Spray
Natural Hold.

STEP 1Begin by doing a soft set

taking 3 sections of hair.
Normally, the outside section is
crossed over the center section
but for this braiding pattern,
start by bringing the outside
under the center section and
repeat with the other side.

STEP 1 Section a 2-3 inch

apex. This will be the hair that
is detailed with curls, so enough
needs to be left out for curling.
STEP 2 Apply BioSilk
Volumizing Therapy Texturizing
Powder at the root for added
volume and then begin a 3
strand braid at occipital bone.
Continue braiding hair around
circumference of the head in a
downward motion.
STEP 3 Each sub-section of hair makes a rotation of 3
placements on top, center, and bottom. When starting
the second braid, add hair to only the bottom sub-section
which will attach the braid close to the scalp and move it
over the parted line.
Continue around the head an odd number of times (3 or 5)
while applying CHI Magnified Volume Finishing Spray after
each braid.
STEP 4
On the final rotation
(closest to hairline), leave
random hair strands out of the
braid. In front of ears, close
to temples and at hairline
recession is recommended.
STEP 5
Using the CHI Orbit Styler Ceramic
Iron and CHI Magnified Volume Finishing Spray,
create small curls from roots to ends, starting
at the outer edges of the round section and
working towards the apex.
When curling, point the iron towards the apex,
up and away. This directs the curls upward to
achieve the look.
STEP 6 To finish the look, use a
medium sized comb to separate the
curls from root to ends, starting at the
apex. Tease hair at roots to mid length
and decrease amount of teasing as
you reach the edges.
STEP 7 Utilize pins at the edges of hair to assist
with keeping the curls in place. The finished look
will reflect an effortless curl.
