1.- Introduction
This Kit was designed for use in any Amiga 1200 computer and in any
Amiga 600 computer with at last KickStart ROM version 37.300 or upwards, this
Kit WILL NOT work on Amiga 600 with KickStart version 37.299
With this Kit you could interchange information between your PC or Mac
and your Amiga in easy way.
You don´t need to have a Hard Disk on your Amiga, the floppy disk
provided can start your Amiga 600 or 1200.
2.- Items included in this Kit
The Kit you have received must include this items:
- Compact Flash to PCMCIA adapter
- Floppy Disk with Compact Flash to PCMCIA drivers.
- This Instructions, v1.80 in .pdf format.
You will need:
-
A Compact Flash memory card
A Compact Flash card reader on your PC or Mac
3.- Before to Start
VERY IMPORTANT NOT all Compact Flash memory cards are Amiga
compatible, if you can´t see the Compact Flash icon on Workbench screen
before instaling this Software, your Compact Flash memory card is NOT Amiga
compatible, try a different one. I have for sale PCMCIA Kits including Amiga
compatible and tested Memory Cards.
How many .adf files fits on a Memory Card? Obviously it depends on the
Compact Flash capacity. On a 32 MB. Memory card you can put 40 .adf files,
on a 512 MB. You can put 600 .adf files on it.
First of all you must create a directory on your Compact Flash card with
name ADF.
You must change the .adf names for others than could be used on a real
Amiga without problems, the Amiga DOS support file names up to 30
characters and does not like special characters like: spaces, @, #, ?, etc.
For example we rename a .adf file name like this:

Dragon´s Lair - Escape from
(1990)(ReadySoft)(Disk 1 of 5).adf
Singe´s
Castle
for
DragonsLair_1.adf
This, DragonsLair_1.adf, is the file you must copy to your
Compact Flash card in the ADF directory
Once we have the .adf files you want to transfer with correct file names
you can go to next step.
We have two options:
1.- You don´t have an Amiga with hard disk
2.- You have an Amiga with hard disk

4.- Working WITHOUT Hard Disk
Switch on your Amiga and when the Insert Workbench disk appear insert
the floppy disk you have received, once loaded you will see a Workbench
screen with two disks icons, one the “Ram Disk” and another with the
floppy inserted icon, “StartupDisk” you must see a Shell Icon too.
Insert the Compact Flash card in the PCMCIA adapter and this one in the
PCMCIA Amiga port. In few seconds you must see a new disk icon on your
workbench screen, in our example with name “CF_CARD”, this is the icon for
the Compact Flash card inserted in the PCMCIA port and is ready for use.

The next step is to transfer the .adf files to a real floppy disk, to do that,
wil use the Tsgui program located on Tools drawer.

This is the program used to transfer .adf files to real floppy disks. It´s very
easy to use. Will use the two buttoms located at the bottom screen: “Disk ->
File” and “File -> Disk”, first one is used to make a .adf file from a real

floppy disk, the second one is used to create a real floppy disk from a .adf file.
In the File Request we choose the .adf file we want to transfer to a real floppy
disk, to do that press on the right Gadget:
there we can look for our .adf files located on our Compact Flash card, in
our example CF_CARD

once selected the correct .adf file, simply press “File -> Disk” and
the .adf image file will be saved on a real floppy disk on internal floppy drive.
WARNING, the transfer program does not check if the inserted
floppy is a blank one or is the original floppy supplied, if you do
not change the disk with a blank one, the original floppy supplied
will be erased and you can´t use it anymore.
