Let’s Get Ready
As we await the 2011-12 season, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming
year. As an organization we feel we have added some important pieces to our
lineup this off-season, and those acquisitions will help us in our quest for a
Stanley Cup.
We delivered on our promise to improve our team. We will remain focused on
doing the right things the right way, and we want a team that continues to retain
and attract top talent. Every one of our signings was for a player who wanted
to play for the Washington Capitals because of our desire and commitment to
compete for a Cup as well as play in a world-class city in front of an electrifying
fan base. Together we have made the Washington, D.C., area a hockey
destination; I give our fans a ton of credit for this great evolution.
Ted Leonsis
Chairman and
There is a definite buzz around Kettler Capitals Iceplex and our neighboring
communities. I think back to our weeklong July development camp for our
prospects. The fan turnout was amazing. And once again I’m looking forward to
the Capitals Convention; what a tremendous event that has become for the entire
family.
Majority Owner
In 2010-11 we earned the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the second
straight season (first time we have accomplished that in franchise history) and
captured our fourth consecutive Southeast Division title. We closed the regular
season with a 25-8-8 home record and earned the second best home winning
percentage in the NHL. We have ranked in the top 3 on home ice in each of the
past three seasons, and our 84 wins at home are tied with San Jose for most in
the NHL during that span. It is without question that our fans, now known around
the league for their fanatical, red-clad support, have played a key role in that
success. As I’m fond of saying: We are in this together.
As you can see, we are in the process of building a generationally great team
that is positioning itself to continually compete with the best in the NHL. It is your
excitement and unwavering support that fuels much of that success – all of us at
the Caps thank you.
We have a 98% season-ticket renewal rate and one of the largest season-ticket
holder bases in the NHL. Once again we will sell out every game at Verizon
Center, and we will continue to provide a home-ice environment that is second to
none. We continue to work diligently to improve all areas of your experience, and
perhaps the most noticeable will be the recently installed new sound system. You
also will see our eight new mini loge boxes, which are aimed at small businesses
and have either six or eight seats.
Be assured, we will continue to strengthen all aspects of our organization with
the keen focus on winning a championship. I hope you share my enthusiasm
about the upcoming season. The pride of belonging to this team unites us.

TicketExchange
FAQ
What happens when my tickets are
sold?
Once your posted tickets are
purchased, the amount of the sale price
is credited, less the 10% seller fee.
The barcodes on your sold tickets are
cancelled and new barcodes are issued.
The new tickets are then electronically
delivered to the buyer via ticketFast®
for at-home printing using any standard
printer, without the hassle and delay of
standard mail delivery. Prior to posting
your tickets, you must choose to either:
1. Apply resale credit towards your
Capitals account for your 2012-13
season renewal.
2. Request to have money deposited
to a valid checking account by
Ticketmaster when your seats are
sold. Please allow 15-20 days business
days after the purchase to process and
deposit your payment.
*Please note that once you have
selected either option you cannot
change your selection.
What happens if my tickets do not
sell?
You will be notified via email if your
tickets do not sell before your indicated
expiration date. Your listing will be
automatically removed and your original
tickets will still be valid for entry. If you
cannot attend the game, you also have
the option of emailing your tickets to a
friend via Ticket Forwarding (Additional
forwarding fees may also include an
authentication and ticketFast® delivery
fee).
Are there additional fees?
Sellers pay 10% of the posting price
only when their posted tickets have
sold. Buyers pay additional fees during
the purchase process which will be
reflected in the listing price of the
ticket. Additional fees may also include
an authentication and ticketFast®
delivery fee.
26
How It Works
Each of your season tickets carries a unique barcode. During
the forwarding process, the barcode on your original seasonticket is cancelled and a new one is issued electronically. The
recipient is e-mailed a new TicketFast ticket with a unique
barcode that can be printed out on an 8.5 x 11” page with any
standard computer printer.
Ticket Forwarding is an inexpensive alternative to other
overnight delivery and courier services and provides a secure
alternative method to ensure your tickets get used.
Ticketmaster TicketExchange
Sell your tickets online via the Capitals Online Account
Manager. Post your tickets for sale in a safe and legitimate
way. The program allows fans to have more flexibility with their
ticket plans, giving them control over which tickets they use
and which they choose to sell in the online forum.
Online Account Manager and Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange
Posting tickets is easy and secure – simply select the tickets
you wish to sell, choose the selling price and the expiration
date, and submit the listing. Editing your posting at any time is
quick and easy.
Please note that any fraudulent ticket activity related to the
resale or ticket forwarding of your season tickets will result
in the cancellation of your 2011-12 season and 2012 playoff
tickets. If you do not have an account ID please contact
Capitals Guest Services at 202.266.2350.
Ticketholders may log-on to TicketExchange from their online
Caps Account Manager account and post their tickets for sale
to the general public safely and easily. When the ticket sells,
the season-ticket holder receives a credit directly to his or her
online account.
Once a ticket is purchased, the barcode on the original seasonticket is cancelled and a new one is electronically delivered via
TicketFast® to the buyer for printing right away.
202.266.2350 | guestservices @ washcaps.com
Any credit obtained from selling your tickets online via
Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange will be applied towards
your 2012-13 season-ticket plan or the 2012 playoffs.
Account credit accrued from the posting of 2011-12
regular season tickets cannot be used towards 2011-12
season-ticket plan payments. You do have an option when
you post your tickets for sale online to have the credit
returned to you electronically via the ACH option or
have it deposited directly into your Capitals season-ticket
account for use on future purchases.
If your tickets do not sell before the expiration date you
have set, you will be notified via email that your listing
has been removed and that your original tickets are still
valid for entry.
TicketExchange
FAQ
Can I purchase additional game
tickets as a season-ticket holder?
Yes, season-ticket holders can use
TicketExchange to purchase additional
Capitals tickets directly from other
Season Ticket Holders. Buying through
TicketExchange is safe, secure, and
easy, and with email delivery, you’ll
receive your extra tickets right away.
What are the benefits of using
Ticketmaster TicketExchange?
Ticketmaster TicketExchange
offers fans a legitimate and secure
forum for buying and selling tickets
online. The total integration of
TicketExchange with Ticketmaster
systems provides a seamless solution
for overall fan satisfaction. Since only

trouble of coordinating transactions.
TicketExchange also uses built-in
pricing regulations based on the
locations of the seller and the event in
order to ensure compliance with state
laws that set the maximum allowable
resale price per ticket.
I also see the option to donate my
tickets to charity, how does that
work?
Donations can be made online-only
up to 48 hours prior to a home game.
All ticket donors are issued a tax
deductible receipt directly from the
Most Valuable Kids Program.
The Capitals have partnered with the
Most Valuable Kids program (www.
mostvaluablekids.org) to distribute
donated tickets. The Most Valuable Kids
program works with child focused nonprofit organizations in the Washington,
D.C./ Baltimore areas to receive
donated tickets, as well as non-profit
agencies serving injured soldiers, active
military, and their families.
