LIMA - CUSCO-MACHU PICCHU ADVENTURE DAY 1: Arrival: Lima - Jorge Chavez International Airport. Our Host will welcome the arrival, your names will be written on a board. Transfer Airport – Hotel. LIMA - Night Marriot Hotel Miraflores – Prime Deluxe --/ -- /D Day 2: Breakfast at Hotel At noon Lunch Peruvian Seafood Miraflores District Restaurant At 2: 30pm - LIMA CITY TOUR Our excursion offers Lima’s best attractions in its three historical periods: preHispanic, colonial and modern. ANCESTRAL LIMA: We start our tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid” a magnificent ceremonial and archeological center built in the 4th century a.D. and considered a “Sacred Village” by the Incas. The Viceroyalty of Peru was the most important of the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital. COLONIAL LIMA: We visit the Historical Center of Lima, where you appreciate more than fifty monuments and Colonial edifications, such as Paseo de la República, the San Martín Square, the Main Square, Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica and City Council Palace among others. . Cathedral will the the the We will visit the MUSEUM OF THE BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA*,where we will admire the “Treasures of Perú” collection, a fine selection of objects made of gold, ceramics and textiles from different pre-Columbian cultures. We will visit the monumental SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT, which displays the largest collection of religious art in America. Our highlight will be the visit of the underground vaults, known as “Catacumbas” or Catacombs CONTEMPORARY LIMA: We will visit traditional residential areas of Lima, such as El Olivar of San Isidro, Miraflores and Larcomar. Larcomar - Transfer from Lima’s Downtown to our Hotel at Miraflores. Mid-morning flight Our Host will welcome the arrival, your names will be written on a board. Transfer to our hotel located at the Sacred Valley, 1 hr. from Cuzco city. We’ll be descending from an altitude of 3450m to 2870m above sea level, at the Valley. On our way to the Sacred Valley we will make a short stop to visit Chinchero (private tour) (You have the option to do it on your way back to Cusco on Day 7) Check in Aranwa Hotel, relax all day and enjoy the nice Hotel accommodations. Night Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness - Deluxe Room B /__/ __ Day 4: Breakfast at the Hotel We will continue our tour at the Sacred Valley visiting Ollantaytambo Ruins and Pisac. (Private tour) Ollantaytambo Pisac Pisac market is really open every day but the main days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (*) We will enjoy a Buffet Lunch at TUNUPAS, a very nice restaurant near the river. As a private tour, our passengers can decide and tell our guide time for lunch. Back to our Hotel Night Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness - Deluxe Room B /L/ __ Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Train Station Mid-morning train from Ollantaytambo Train Station (km 68) to Aguas Calientes town (km 112) (1.5 hr trip) Our Host will welcome the arrival, your names will be written on a board. After our check in at HATUCHAY Tower Hotel, a bus will take us up to the Lost City of the Incas “Machu Picchu”. Once there, we’ll enjoy a private guided visit during 2.5 hours. Night in Aguas Calientes, Hotel Hatuchay Tower Junior Suite River view B /__/ __ Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel Optional (included) Early in the morning we will climb the Huayna Picchu (altitude: 2667 m) it’s known for being the backdrop of most panoramic photographs of the remains of Machu Picchu Inca ruins. It is also home to important archaeological remains related to the famous Inca complex. For those wishing to reach the top, local authorities only allow a maximum rise of 400 people in two shifts of 200. This reflects the fact that the path of ascent and the top can’t host more visitors. The ascent takes an average person 45 to 60 minutes. Machu Picchu view from Wayna Picchu Even try or not the Wayna Picchu, we have a second visit to the Ruin of Machu Picchu, self-tour or guided; it’s a group decision. Our private transportation will take us to Cuzco (1hr) On our way back to Cusco we can visit Chinchero – if you didn’t during Day 3 Check in at Cusco Marriot Hotel After a normal rest, we will have a nice (*) dinner at Baco, a well-known restaurant in Cuzco. Night Marriot Hotel Cusco – Courtyard Terrace King B /__/ D Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel CUSCO CITY TOUR: 02:00 p.m.: We will visit the main attractions of the city: Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) During the Incas´ time it was the most important building. The Cathedral, where an important painting collection from “Escuela Cusqueña” is located. Then we’ll be taking a bus to Sacsayhuaman, an important religious and military building, finally Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
