WHAT DOES UNITED WAY OF
SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA DO?
OUR MISSION
To improve lives by mobilizing the
caring power within our community.
Our goal is to create opportunities for all by supporting and investing in programs that
efficiently address our community’s most critical needs in education, income, health
and safety. Through our partnerships with local businesses, nonprofit agencies and
individuals, we are able to address the human care needs in our community and
advance the common good.
3
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
United Way of Southwest Oklahoma works to
make a meaningful, measurable difference in
the lives of everyone in our community. This
report highlights accomplishments of the past
year and honors the people who made them
possible. 2014-15 was a productive year. We
worked with over 100 workplace campaigns
and countless individuals to raise $1,524,814;
$1,107,739 of which was invested in health and
human service programs to support our community’s most vital needs. The year saw many
firsts, including our First Annual Campaign
Kickoff Dinner, Leadership Donor Appreciation
Reception, and many new relationships, partnerships, and collaborative efforts.
United Way of Southwest Oklahoma is best able to address the most pressing
problems by capitalizing on our unique role as a convener between the public, private and non-profit sectors. Our organization brings together a variety
of partners – people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise and
resources needed to make a difference. We are committed to addressing the
underlying root causes of our community conditions, while simultaneously
making sure people get the short-term help they need.
Thanks to the exceptional generosity of our donors and the outstanding commitment of our partners, over 74,000 individuals received the help they needed.
We continue our work in the community by focusing our efforts in education,
financial stability, and improving health and safety. We believe that by impacting these four areas we will see a lasting change in our community.
On behalf of all of us at United Way of Southwest Oklahoma, thank you for your
continued commitment and support!

2014 CAMPIAGN VOLUNTEERS
CAMPAIGN CHAIR
Carlos “Los” Irizarry
American National Insurance
“Serving as the Campaign Chair for the 2014-2015 season has
been a rewarding opportunity. In a short period of time; our
local support with new donors and volunteers increased exponentially-we had double digit growth in the fundraising with the
“169 All The Time!” campaign theme. We also benefitted from
having a very motivating Campaign Kickoff that re-energized
our past donors. Many of them stepped up more than ever to
make sure we can do the most for our community. Our outreach during the campaign gave us wonderful exposure that
allowed us the chance to build on more community relationships
and supporters than the past.”
LOANED EXECUTIVE CHAIR
Dr. Chearlene Glover-Johnson ,
SHRM-CP, PHR
Johnson & Johnson Locksmith & Door
“I am truly humbled to be a long time volunteer among such
incredibly talented and dedicated partners working for the
collective good in our community. I believe in the importance of
its purpose and the fact that as long as people in our community have needs and challenges, the United Way of Southwest
Oklahoma will continue its collective efforts to provide support
that will lead to solutions and answers.”
