Session #1
Alternative Reinsurance: It’s Not What it Used to Be!
As a CFO, you are familiar with the ever-changing investment environment and
new products being offered on what can seem like a daily basis, but did you
know the same is developing in the reinsurance marketplace? This leading edge
session will discuss familiar and new reinsurance vehicles that are currently in
use in the life industry and are starting to become mainstream in the P&C
industry. A panel consisting of Reinsurance, Life, P&C, and Investment
Management professionals will explore the new opportunities emerging in the
marketplace for non-traditional reinsurance, how they are being deployed, what
the best environments are to use them, and the pros and cons of each. Attendees
will take away innovative insights from an asset manager dedicated to deploying
capital and managing Insurance Linked Securities. Participants will also learn
about determining investment strategies for institutional investors, what returns
and insurance client profiles their dedicated funds seek invest in, and how they
transfer insurance risk from the primary market to the capital markets. Join this
session and leave prepared to discuss and take advantage of these new vehicles
from both a reinsurance and investment perspective.
