Volume 11 Number 10
Randy's ramblings II
Hello Freedom Riders:
Well here it is time for the newsletter again, man it sure comes around
before I know it. The weather is
looking to be on our side for some
great rides.
Cheryl and I will be missing a
few rides the next three weeks, going
to the big hills of Colorado. We will
miss the group but will hook up with
you all when we return.
As most of your know we have
two of our fellow riders that have
some rocky times ahead of them.
Let us all keep them in our thoughts
and prayers. Frosty and Bob we are
all wishing you both the best and a
speedy recovery.
Start your plans now for the
Whitney Picnic, will be here again
before you know it. I am drafting a
set of OFFICIAL DFW Honda Freedom Riders washer and horseshoe
pitch'en rules! It seems the rules get
bent a little as the competition heats
up. We do have a lot of fun!
Hope to see ya'll soon on the rides.

Member spotlightTonight's spotlight was on Randy
Hochhalter. Randy brought his first
motorcycle from Frosty in the late
70's. It was a CB450 that Randy rode
around the neighborhood until he felt
comfortable enough to ride it on the
open road. Then two months later he
traded it in on a CB750. His early
riding was in Washington state. After
moving to Texas he traded an Interstate 1200 in on his curry VTX1800.
Hobbies include Building Furniture
and remodeling his home.

open space. Last year's ride raised
$153,611.00. Of this $2,150.00 was

plaque was presented to the club and
will be turned over to DFW Honda to
be displayed there.
Zane Hilger updated us on the

work they do supporting the families

The dire weather forecasts for the
weekend turned out to be a non-event.
That's why I say that meteorology is
the only job in the world that you can
be wrong 80% of the time and still
keep a job, but that's another story!
Eleven bikes and fifteen people
headed out on a beautiful Spring Friday. Bob Sympson took out of the
Metromess avoiding the construction
and a nice ride to Stephenville for
lunch. The Hard Eight BBQ was great
as always.
An uneventful and pleasant ride
took us into Kerrville in time to check
in to the motel, freshen up, then head
out to dinner at Mamacita's to celebrate Cheryl Langley's birthday. 39
again, and again!
Saturday Bob had a route that took
us down Hwy 16, Hwy 337, lunch
in Leakey, Hwy 336, Hwy 335, then
back to Leakey on Hwy 337. I don't
know how he planned it, but every
bike we encountered was going the
other way. We never got behind a
group and no one came up behind us.
It was a great 218 mile round trip for
the Saturday.
Sunday morning found us ready
to leave when Rob Williams noticed
a flat on the rear of his Valkyrie. He
said he would stay behind, but we
leave no one behind, so a twenty
minute repair job had us on the road
