Located at the historic Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, the Royal ICC is the latest purpose built convention centre in Brisbane offering world-class facilities and five star service. Catering for events ranging from 30 to 3000 people, our professional in-house team offers customised services tailored for conferences, major events, exhibitions, banquets and weddings within a unique, heritage inspired boutique convention centre just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD. The Royal ICC is a stunningly designed boutique style centre featuring a unique blend of original hardwood timbers and industrial heritage façade, with contemporary architectural design providing warmth, character and charm. A 1,500m2 landscaped open Plaza forms the entrance into this multi-level convention centre featuring three flexible configuration exhibition/conference halls, seven meeting rooms, two board rooms and 1,280m2 of foyer space. The Royal ICC is a multipurpose venue capable of holding multiple catered events at any one time. The Royal ICC is the only convention facility in Australia able to offer a range of outdoor facilities including a main arena with grandstands capable of accommodating 18,000 people plus other unique facilities including The Marquee, a 5535m² permanent, all weather structure suitable for exhibitions, events and concerts of all sizes. Food & Beverage Royal ICC is the only centre in Australia that can offer clients award-winning food and wine carefully selected from some of the nation’s most prestigious competitions. Nowhere else can you enjoy produce awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in our Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show (RQFWS) and the iconic Royal Queensland Show. The Royal ICC develops relationships with farmers, winemakers and small producers to ensure we have access to the finest from paddock to palate. Technical Services Location Meetings and events function most effectively when they are supported by the highest level of audio visual technology. Microhire, operating as an independent contractor within Royal ICC, can provide a number of specialist services that will assist in keeping your audience informed and entertained. The Royal ICC is ideally located 1.5 kms from the CBD and just 15 minutes from Brisbane’s domestic and international airports. Situated close to Brisbane’s popular café, entertainment, music and dining precincts of James Street, New Farm, Teneriffe, Newstead and Fortitude Valley where there is something to suit all tastes in entertainment and cuisine. As our technical partner, Microhire offer unrivalled venue expertise and are intimately familiar with the Royal ICC’s function locations and our unique ceiling grid system. Operable Ceiling Grid System A unique structural feature within Royal ICC and the first of its kind in Australia, the operable ceiling grid system offers some key features which benefit our clients and their events: • 36 operable grids each featuring 3 phase and 15 amp power and is capable of carrying a sizeable weight load. • Grids are lowered by remote control, the system enables timely installation of technical equipment from a safe floor level work height. • Faster and easier hanging of banners and key event signage thus avoiding additional rigging equipment hire charges. A range of public transport options are easily accessible. Accommodation Opening in early 2016, Rydges Fortitude Valley is located directly across from the Royal ICC along what will be Brisbane’s newest and most vibrant cafe strip, King Street. The 208 room Rydges offers guets more than the accommodation option, adding another dimension to events within the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct.
