TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Innisfil passed By-law
054-16 on June 1, 2016 to amend the Lake Simcoe Shoreline
Development Interim Control By-Law (078-15) and extend its
effect (on approximately 27 vacant shoreline properties) for up
to one additional year until June 3, 2017.
THE PURPOSE of the extension of the ICB will allow the Town
of Innisfil to complete a study (“Our Shore”) that is currently
underway regarding shoreline management and development
approval processes. This study will include a development
permit system or other appropriate process to ensure that
shoreline development is undertaken in a comprehensive and
integrated manner with the applicable policies and provisions of
other approval authorities.
THE EFFECT of the ICB will restrict shoreline development on
vacant lands abutting Lake Simcoe (totaling approximately 27
properties) in the Town of Innisfil for up to one additional year
until June 3, 2017. During this time, these properties will not be
able to change any use already occurring on the property and
no building permits for buildings and structures will be issued,
as set out in the By-law.

PLEASE NOTE that any person or agency may appeal the
passing of this By-Law (054-16) to the Ontario Municipal Board
(OMB) no later than the 2nd day of August, 2016. A Notice
of Appeal must be filed with the Clerk, Town of Innisfil, 2101
Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil, Ontario, L9S 1A1, setting out
the objection to the By-law and the reasons in support of the
objection. A fee of $125.00 is also required by the OMB payable
to the Minister of Finance in the form of a certified cheque or
money order. The OMB prescribed Appellant Form (A1) must
be filed with any appeal to the OMB. This form is available in
the Customer Service area of the Municipal Office or online
at www.omb.gov.on.ca.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal
the By-law to the OMB. A Notice of Appeal may not be filed
by an unincorporated body or group. A Notice of Appeal may,
however, be filed in the name of an individual who is a member
of an incorporated association or group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the
hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed,
the person or public body made oral submissions at a public
meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion
of the Ontario Municipal Board, there are reasonable grounds to
add the person or public body as a party.
