THE PURPOSE of the extension of the ICB will allow the Town of Innisfil to complete a study (“Our Shore”) that is currently underway regarding shoreline management and development approval processes. This study will include a development permit system or other appropriate process to ensure that shoreline development is undertaken in a comprehensive and integrated manner with the applicable policies and provisions of other approval authorities. THE EFFECT of the ICB will restrict shoreline development on vacant lands abutting Lake Simcoe (totaling approximately 27 properties) in the Town of Innisfil for up to one additional year until June 3, 2017. During this time, these properties will not be able to change any use already occurring on the property and no building permits for buildings and structures will be issued, as set out in the By-law.
