THE CONFIDENTIALS June 26, 2015 Matt Cox Band with Belles & Whistles MATT COX BAND Six-time Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards winner for Best Country/Americana and Best Blues speaks to the caliber of artist Matt Cox and his band have become in the studio and on stage. With a live show that showcases some of the best players in the region, and a raw energy that reveals the passion and experience that friends share with each other on stage and off. Belles & Whistles, a mother/daughter, singer/songwriter duo, are building a strong industry buzz; already sharing stages with Kenny Rogers, Brett Eldridge, Jerrod Niemann, Scotty McCreery and many others. The duo has played for audiences all over the country at fairs, festivals, clubs, radio shows and writer’s rounds. Belles & Whistles enjoy connecting to audiences with their personal lyrics, strong harmonies and genuine performances, as the audience shares in their onstage chemistry and their joy in performing. BELLES & WHISTLES July 10, 2015 Lee Bowes with Matt Whipkey LEE BOWES If you threw Lenny Kravits, Elvis, The Black Keys, and Hall and Oates in a blender, you’d end up with something that sounds a lot like Lee Bowes. Forged through years in bands that range from a cappella to acoustic rock, to country, to hard rock, Lee Bowes is truly a unique presence. Lee’s bluesy baritone voice is supported effortlessly by his guitar work and his songs plunge deep into the human condition. Through a variety of cover bands over the years, Lee has now returned to his passion for songwriting and performing original music…though he’ll occasionally fire up his modified covers if you ask nice! Matt Whipkey is an acclaimed singer songwriter and guitarist from Omaha, Nebraska. Having earned the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards for artist and album of the year in 2013, Whipkey’s live band features some of the city’s finest. In a city internationally renowned for top-tier songwriting, Whipkey balances musical execution with artistic instinct. MATT WHIPKEY July 24, 2015 Prairie Gators Band with The Pink Flamingos PRAIRIE GATORS BAND The Prairie Gators take you on an accordion-fueled virtual trip through Cajun country and French Louisiana music history. Gator performances are sometimes embellished by a stable of veteran musical associates, including piano, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and even a musical saw. A typical Prairie Gators set stokes the fires of Cajun-zydeco-creole cultures, but is often prone to a bit of musical wandering itself, venturing into traditional folk, country, rockabilly and a slew of “train” songs….something for everybody. The Pink Flamingos take you on a ride through the romance of the imagined West. Combining traditional Americana elements with rockabilly, surf, and their own brand of California country, their music is full of loneliness, longing, and a definite sense of originality. From haunting ballads to raucous swingers, their original songs celebrate raw, and sometimes dark, emotion—resulting in both stories and melodies that won’t soon be forgotten. THE PINK FLAMINGOS August 7, 2015 Maha Music Festival Showcase Maha Music Festival local band showcase. Acts TBD.
