Team Ocean Kayak’s Captain Filip Spencer was
asked to help out with Temple Fork Outfitters Demo day
at Roy’s Tackle shop in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Team Ocean Kayak is no stranger to fly fishing and
all of it’s members are avid fly fishermen. Many of today’s current state fly rod records are held by Team
Ocean Kayak members including the State Catch and Release Speckled Trout, State Sand Trout Record, Galveston Bay Speckled Trout body of water record, Gulf of
Mexico Speckled Trout body of water record and many
others.
Temple Fork Outfitters is a fly rod company based
out of the Dallas area which has long been the work
horse fly rod in Team Ocean Kayak’s arsenal.
Affordable quality and long lasting durability have
long been the trade mark of TFO Fly Rods.
Team Ocean Kayak will be working harder this
year to create a bigger presence in the fly fishing industry. Team Ocean Kayak already organizes an annual fly
casting class with legendary instructor Bill Harvey.

Team Ocean Kayak sets 8 new State Fishing Records
Team Ocean Kayak’s Captain Filip Spencer added
to his growing list of State records by picking up the new
Fly fishing State Catch and Release record for Sheephead
at 20.5 inches and 5.81 pounds.
Captain Filip Spencer also received the State body
of water record for Black Drum for Nueces River and this
fish also qualified for the State Catch and Release record
and the state catch and release body of water record for
the Nueces River.
Captain Filip Spencer also set the new State Water Body record for Speckled Trout for the Nueces River
at 28.5 inches and 8.31lbs.
Team Ocean Kayak currently hold close to 50
State Fishing Records and we are adding to this total
constantly.
