Website: www.insideedgeclub.bc.ca February 2016 FEBRUARY CLUBNIGHT *** February 4, 2016 7:00 PM Burnaby Firefighters’ Public House, 6515 Bonsor Ave., Burnaby, BC Near Metrotown Skytrain Station THE INSIDE EDGE CLUB www.insideedgeclub.bc.ca THE INSIDE EDGE CLUB www.insideedgeclub.bc.ca THE EDGE | February 2016 | Page 2 EXECUTIVE REPORTS WHISTLER LODGE [email protected] LODGE REPORT - Hilmar Schneider There's so much snow that the lodge is ski in, ski out now. Just kidding, but being able to ski to the valley is a nice change from last year. It's been a nice mix of stormy days (fresh powder) and sunny days (fresh vitamin D). More members are going to the lodge just to hang out. There's lots of ways to spend your money without skiing. See you on the mountain. SOCIALS [email protected] SOCIALS REPORT - Deb Reynolds Have you made a new year’s resolution to spend fun, quality time with people and less time watching TV? If so, your investment in a membership with the Inside Edge Club is going to pay off big time. Keep your social event ideas coming in. What else can we do? I am so glad I went to the New Year’s Eve party with my Inside Edge friends. Roger and Doreen are rock stars for putting on such a fabulous night! You can tell from the photos we had lots of laughs. It’s the year of the Monkey in 2016 so more laughter and fun times to come. I am looking for ideas for social events in March and April so talk to me if you have a suggestion for next month. Thanks to Lindsay and Wolf for suggesting a Dim Sum event for February. Are there any Star Wars fans out there? I know who you are. SPORTS [email protected] SPORTS REPORT - Doug Johnson Volleyball is seeing continued strong attendance. Soccer attendance is down. More soccer players would be welcomed. Check out another indoor volleyball at Sexsmith School on Friday February 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. TOURS [email protected] TOURS REPORT - Melody Monro Happy Family Day and Happy Valentine’s Day! Enjoy February! If a last minute ski trip happens, you’ll see it posted on the Club Facebook site and in the Yahoo groups. If it doesn’t, why not spend a weekend in Whistler? A February tidbit: February 22nd full moon was historically known in many North American Nations as the 'Full Snow Moon' because that is when there used to be the greatest accumulation of snow in the winter. So if you can - get out there! THE EDGE | February 2016 | Page 3 CLUBNIGHT [email protected] CLUBNIGHT REPORT - Lindsay Macintosh January Clubnight saw a great turnout of members seeing what the Club has to offer for 2016. THE EDGE | February 2016 | Page 7 REPORTS ON RECENT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS REPORT ON NEW YEARS AT WOODY’S by Wolf Schneider Thirty or so Inside Edge and friends gathered together at Woody's in Coquitlam to dance away 2015 and bring 2016 in with style. The band was up to the task, the refreshments were delicious and copious (so much so, folks were seen taking home food for later), the drinks were liberal and timely, right down to the champagne that was poured for all just prior to the stroke of midnight. And thus, amidst the raucous din of noisemakers, horns, and cheering people, 2016 was launched with great gusto and satisfaction all around. If the rest of the year goes equally as well, this should be a great one!! Thanks to Roger and Doreen for a great time.
