We were joined by a mixed group of peoplefamilies, single Airmen, and deployed spouses like myself- all looking for a relaxing weekend in the south of France. Both of us quickly fell asleep and before we knew it we were stopping for breakfast by the French border. After a cappuchino and brioche we were able to change and freshen up. Then we boarded the bus to continue our journey to our first stop, the Fragonard perfume factory in Eze. At the perfume factory our guide taught us about the perfume-making process and the difference between perfume, eau de parfum and eau de toilette. After the tour we were able to sample their products and purchase items at a discounted cost. My sister and I each bought a few bottles of our favorite scents, Etoile and Belle Chérie, and their Royal Jelly Face Cream. Before getting back on the bus to drive to Cannes we took a short hike up to an overlook with a breathtaking view of the Mediteranean sea. We saw the Palais Monaco-Ville, where we saw des Festivals et des Congrès, the Prince’s Palace, St. Martin home of the Cannes Film Gardens, and Saint Nicholas Festival, and walked on the Cathedral (where Grace Kelly red carpet.
