The Cyclades
The Cyclades – literally 'the scattered islands' - in the central Aegean are most people’s idea of
how the Greek Islands should look. There are dazzling flat-roofed villages to explore, timeless
harbours, excellent beaches, and tiny chapels everywhere. Each island has its own distinct
history, customs and atmosphere, and each contrasts in landscape and terrain with its
neighbour.
The best known and busiest are
Mykonos and Santorini, both of which
have direct international flights. Santorini
is world famous and seemingly always
busy – every cruise-ship in the Aegean
seems to call in at some stage. But this
does not detract from the sheer
spectacle of the place, its volcanic cliffs
laced with white villages overlooking the
caldera and islands below.
These are good jumping off points for
nearby islands such as Naxos, Paros and
Ios lying at the heart of the group. These
islands have a perfect blend of
whitewashed Greek charm and fabulous
sandy beaches, making them a draw for
Greek and foreign visitors alike.
For lesser frequented islands look to the
west - Andros, Sifnos, Milos, Folegandros,
each with its own distinct attractions.
These islands have a more laid back feel,
although in high season do receive their
fair share of visitors of course, and are
best served via Athens.
Do not go expecting to see much in the
way of evident archaeology. There is
some - notably the holy island of Delos
close to Mykonos - but on the whole the
bulk of Greece's archaeological sites are
on the mainland. If this is an interest, but
you still wish to visit the islands, we'd
recommend a tailor-made arrangement
via Athens with the north Peloponnese
or a mainland fly-drive.
Many people find a two- or three-island
holiday appealing, due to the proximity
of one island to the other and the
contrasts between them. Due to the
ferry routings, we suggest keeping to
island groupings on the following pages.
The Small Cyclades also combine well
with Naxos.

Even the most remote of these islands
receives plenty of visitors in the peak
season (mid-July to end-August) - and
the smaller they are the more crowded
they can seem. This is also the time of
the Meltemi – a strong wind which
shows no respect for hats, taverna
tablecloths or ferry schedules, but which
can bring relief from the heat of the day.
All visitors should be aware that ferry
timetables are subject to change, bad
weather or mechanical breakdown. In
this event we will change your itinerary
accordingly, which may involve bringing
you off your island a day early in order to
connect safely with your flight home.
But the most remote of all are known as
'the small Cyclades'. We feature tiny
Koufonissi (truly fabulous beaches!),
Schinoussa and not-so-small Amorgos.
Historically difficult to reach - an
overnight for the first and/or the last
night is often necessary.

majority of the Cycladic islands.
On all these islands we have appointed
local agents or hoteliers who arrange
your transfers, can give information,
book cars and excursions, and can be
contacted if required. However, it is
important to state that we do not
employ our own representatives, nor are
transfers escorted, so our holidays here
are recommended for the more
independent traveller.

Santorini
Direct flights from Gatwick, Heathrow,
Birmingham and Manchester, or via
Athens (ferry or domestic flight).
Santorini is an island that should need no
introduction. Also known as Thira, it is
startlingly unlike any other.
Sheer volcanic cliffs, embroidered on their
heights by whitewashed villages, plunge
1,000 feet to the sea. Here occurred the
tremendous eruption some 3,000 years ago
that is thought to have destroyed the
Minoan civilisation in Crete as well as
Santorini’s own advanced culture (as
evidenced by the excavations at Akrotiri).
Theories of Atlantis abound, but all that
remains is the vast sea-filled caldera, the
visible lips being the three main islands of
Thira, Therasia and Aspronisi.
Understandably this dramatic island is
always popular and tourism, together with
wine production, is fairly dominant.
Nevertheless, Santorini is an island that
should be visited at least once – it is unique
and the views are spectacularly
unforgettable.
Naxos
Fly to Mykonos or Santorini, or via Athens
c 1 hr by ferry from Mykonos or c 2 hrs
from Santorini
c 5 hrs by ferry from Athens (or 40 mins
domestic flight)
Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades. It is also,
with Santorini, Mykonos and Paros, now one
of the most popular, due largely to muchimproved ferry links. But away from the main
town and handful of burgeoning resorts
Naxos has largely preserved its slower, more
Greek pace of life. It offers abundant sandy
beaches and a fertile interior still dedicated
to farming.
Naxos Town is particularly attractive, its
extensive waterfront bedecked with tavernas
and small shops. Behind, a maze of narrow
streets and tiny passages leads to the
Venetian Kastro, worth visiting for the
island’s archaeological museum.
Naxos boasts some 92 kms of beach and
nearly all are excellent. Aghios Georgios,
distinguished by a spectacular set of hilltop
caves more than 100 metres deep, with a
stunning array of huge stalagmites and
stalactites.
closest to the town, is sandy and very long.
Some 8 kilometres away – and easily
reached by the very good local bus network
– Prokopios and Ayia Anna are of fine
golden sand shelving gently into a clear blue
sea. Small but growing resorts, busy in the
summer months, have sprung up behind
these beaches. Carry on south and the
beaches simply get better and better (and
emptier) culminating in the great golden
sweep of Pyrgaki.
It is easy to pop across to Paros for the day, as
ferries are frequent and cheap. A trip to the
nearby island of Despotiko is a highlight:
heavily populated in ancient times due to its
strategic maritime position, it is now
uninhabited, leaving behind the ruins of its
Hellenistic and Roman past. Coupled with its
empty beaches and striking sea-caves, the
deserted island seems to have been created
from the romantic imagination.
You can explore Naxos very effectively by
bus or organised excursion or hire car. Visit
the old capital of Chalki, delightful Philoti,
and Apollonas in the north, where a large
statue of Apollo (a ‘Kouros’) lies to this day.
Inland is superb walking country with
mountains, springs, valleys and plains
Ios
Fly to Santorini or Mykonos, or via Athens

from Mykonos
Paros & Antiparos
c 5 hrs by ferry from Athens
Fly to Mykonos or Santorini, or via Athens
Ios has made something of a comeback in
recent years. And deservedly so, as the island
has a friendly little port (Gialos), very pretty
traditional main village (Chora) on the hill
above, and some of the finest beaches in the
Cyclades.
c 1 hr by ferry from Mykonos or c 3 hrs
from Santorini
c 4 hrs by ferry from Athens
Paros, a short hop to the west of Naxos, is
smaller and less dramatic, but does get busy
in season. The beaches are excellent, and it is
probably the best island of all from which to
do a little island hopping – every ferry in the
Aegean seems to dock at one time or another!
Ios developed a “party island” reputation in
the 80s and 90s, but has since calmed down
considerably and now has appeal for all ages.
The young are still catered for by some clubs
in Chora but this doesn't impact the majority
of holidaymakers here.
A gentle landscape hides windmills and
sparkling white villages. The pretty resort
village of Naoussa in the north still retains
some of its fishing village atmosphere around
the harbour area, although busy in summer.
There is a good selection of beaches to
choose from, some best reached by boat.
Our hotel is at Gialos, and here you will find
some 10 traditional tavernas, plus cafes and
small shops, as well as the usual Greek hoo-ha
every time a ferry docks! Gialos has a nice
sandy beach of its own.
Milopotas is the best known of Ios' white
sandy beaches, and its kilometre-long Blu Flag
strand is regularly voted one of the top ten in
Europe. Others are reached by boat, including
lovely Manganari in the south east.
On Paros’ east coast, to the south of the pretty
village of Piso Livadi, you will find miles of
uncrowded sand.
The satellite island of Antiparos, just a 10
minute ferry hop from the west coast of Paros,
can feel like a refuge. Antiparos has most
attractive little port with a sophisticated,
counter-cultural vibe. Life revolves around its
elegant waterfront and main street, beneath a
canopy of flaming bougainvillea.
Gialos, Chora and Milopotas are linked by a
frequent bus service. Alternatively you can
walk - it is 3 kms by foot up and over the hill
from Gialos via Hora to Milopotamos.
Ios is not alone in claiming Homer as its son,
but near our hotel is the ancient settlement of
Skarkos which dates back some 4,000 years, so
there’s a chance it could be true.
The town has beaches of its own, but they get
better as you go south, the pick being Soros
which has a couple of tavernas. The island is

Melina Hotel Fira, Santorini
The Melina is a small family-run
hotel in a central but quiet location
that allows convenient access to the
main bus station (3 mins.), the
centre of Fira (5 mins.) and the
caldera edge (8-10 mins.).
The 20 rooms here are a mix of
twins, doubles and triples, all with
simple pretty decor and furnishings.
All possess air conditioning, shower
room, hairdryer, room safe, minifridge and balcony.
We consider the Melina to be a
comfortable, convenient and well
priced town hotel - ideal as a base
from which to make the most of
both Fira Town and Santorini, as the
excellent bus service starts from the
central bus station nearby and runs
to all points including the famous
volcanic beaches.

Kalimera Hotel Akrotiri, Santorini
This small and very friendly hotel is
on the edge of the traditional village
of Akrotiri, 15kms to the south of the
capital Fira. The pretty village is away
from the main tourist areas,
although it does have some halfdozen tavernas and is known for its
Minoan archaeological site dating
from the eruption in 1625 BC.
The hotel has only 21 rooms on 3
floors or in a bungalow garden unit
behind the pool. All are nicely
furnished in a tasteful modern style
and possess air-conditioning, fridge,
TV, hairdryer, shower room and
balcony or terrace. Most have some
form of sea view, either over the
road to the caldera or across vines to
the south coast.
The hotel has a well-liked garden bar
and restaurant serving honest home
cooking (and the occasional BBQ)
and an attractive freshwater pool
measuring some 80 sq m. A roofgarden bar operates in the summer
evenings.
The bus stop for Fira Town is nearby
(service at least hourly) and a small
beach at the foot of the caldera
below can be reached in around 10
minutes via a steep track.
The Kalimera offers a quiet, friendly
alternative to the more commercial
areas, yet is within a short (c 20 min)
bus ride of the capital and walking
distance of beaches. Recommended,
and good value for Santorini.
Some open-plan maisonettes for
families are available. These have a
sleeping gallery above a living area
and are for up to four persons. The
facilities are the same as the rooms.

Oia is the prettiest and most
upmarket of Santorini's cliff-top
villages, and famed for its sunset. In a
peaceful location a ten minute walk
from the centre of the village, and
built down the cliffside (so plenty of
steps), the Esperas enjoys the most
fantastic caldera views (and sunset,
from all but Standard rooms and
Esperas Suite).
The hotel's 17 rooms are designed in
the traditional island 'cave' style,
being built into the cliff. All have
Queen-sized beds, tea-making
facilities, mini-bar, Sat TV, DVD,
CD/MP3 player, room-safe, Wifi,
shower room and sea/caldera view
terrace. Studios are for couples only;
Houses offer more space (some splitlevel), Junior Suites have a living
room area open-plan with the
bedroom; and the Suites have one or
two bedrooms, a separate living
room and a private outdoor Jacuzzi
on the terrace.
Please enquire for more detailed
room descriptions. The swimming
pool is (for cliff accommodation) a
reasonable size - carved into the rock
it has a surrounding terrace and
snack bar. The hotel has a restaurant,
offers private dining and breakfast
can be taken on your room terrace.
The Esperas occupies a truly
privileged location, one of the best
on Santorini, and has the views, style,
comfort and facilities to match.
Please note that children under 12
years are discouraged, and the many
steps make a stay here unsuitable for
anyone with mobility problems.

Western Cyclades
Andros
2 hours by ferry from Rafina (Athens)
Andros is the second largest island of the
group (after Naxos). Due to the many
underground springs much of the island
remains green and fresh throughout the
summer, making Andros a paradise for
walkers: there are mountains, valleys,
monasteries and some 70 villages to explore.
Andros’ many beaches are mostly superb,
ranging from long sandy crescents (such as
that at Batsi) to secluded coves, all lapped by
a turquoise-clear sea. And it is Batsi where
most visitors choose to stay. This small
resort-village has a friendly relaxed Greek air,
fine beaches to either side, a good choice of
restaurants and cafés, a handful of bars, even
an open-air cinema showing the latest
releases (in English!).
Andros Town, the atmospheric island capital
since the Venetians arrived in the 13th
century, makes a good day-trip by local bus.
Old meets new here as its Archaeological
Museum and Museum of Modern Art are
each highly regarded. For trips further afield
ferries run to Tinos and Mykonos.
Unlike the more famous Cycladic islands,
tourism to Andros is pretty low key (albeit
busy with Athenians at weekends and in
August). Coupled with its fine beaches,
verdant countryside, authentic Greek
atmosphere and ease of access, a visit here is
highly recommended.
Sifnos
c 2 hrs 15 mins by high speed ferry from
Piraeus
Sophisticated Sifnos has managed to retain a
discreet distance from the crowds that are
drawn to better known islands, and attracts a
discerning visitor. Consequently its
exceptionally clean beaches feel uncrowded
and peaceful (the usual August caveat apart
of course), and there is a sense of traditional
elegance amidst the narrow streets and
whitewashed houses of the classically
Cycladic villages dotted around the island.
An island of fertile valleys and lofty
mountains, a network of walking trails (see
www.cycladen.be) enable you to explore its
many beaches, and can also take you past
some of the 227 individual churches, which
are overlooked dramatically by several
hilltop monasteries.
The island’s distinctive pottery making has
helped develop a highly rated cuisine based
on the use of clay ovens. Discerning
“foodies” have long appreciated the island’s
soups, stews and casseroles, with ingredients
supplied locally by the restaurants’ own
farms - the island's signature dish is chickpea
soup.
Our favoured resort areas are the small fishing
island's best are to be found here). The
offshore islets of Kimolos and Polyegos are
easily reached by boat and up to 9 buses run
daily to the main port of Adamas and Plaka.
port of Kamares which has more than a
dozen tavernas set back from a sandy beach,
and Platy Yialos, the best beach on the island
with an entire kilometre of golden sand,
supported by a good choice of restaurants,
cafes and mini-markets. There are also good
and quick ferry connections to neighbouring
islands such as Milos and Folegandros,
making twin centre holidays easy.
Several ancient paths traverse the island,
uncovering ever more secluded beaches.
Particularly noteworthy is the unique lunarlike region of Sarakiniko, with its white
volcanic beaches and pale smooth rocks,
crystal waters, deep-set caves and
monumental outcrops and pillars.
Milos
Something of a geological curiosity, the
island provides a fascinating backcloth to
any “around the island” boat trip, which is a
must for every visitor.
40 mins by domestic flight from Athens
c 2 hrs 45 mins by high speed ferry from
Piraeus or c 2 hrs from Santorini
The volcanic origins of the island of Milos
have endowed it with a very special geology.
Rugged and hilly, it has a richly variegated
coastline, ranging from curving sandy
beaches to bleached smooth moonscape,
from hidden lagoons to colourful rock
formations erupted from the sea-bed.
Precious obsidian has been mined here for
11,000 years, and the island is full of history.
Folegandros
c 4 hrs by high speed ferry from Piraeus
or c 1 hr from Santorini
Something of a hidden gem, Folegandros
remains true to the austere beauty of its
rugged landscape, with its sunbleached,
woodless terrain leading to precipitous cliffs
that seem to fall directly into a dazzling
ocean.
The capital is Adamas – a bustling port with a
sandy beach to the south. Adamas is the best
location from which to explore as it is in the
centre of the local bus network and offers a
wide choice of excursions by boat.
The island’s 650 inhabitants live in three
small villages, but its Chora is the perfect
Cycladic capital brought to life. Perched on
an almost vertical cliff, its sugar-cubed
houses with whitewashed walls and blue
doors are crammed together in narrow
alleys. In the evenings, there seems to be a
taverna on every corner, tables spilling onto
the streets and squares.
Plaka, the old capital perched on its hilltop, is
particularly atmospheric in the evenings, and
we'd recommend climbing up to the 13th
century Venetian castle to view the
sumptuous sunset before choosing one of
the many tavernas, tables spilling out onto
the narrow lanes, to dine.
The landmark church of Panagia on the
hillside above - a half hour walk - affords a
spectacular view – stunning in conjunction
with the setting of the sun.
There is a lovely, if steep, walk down from
Plaka - via ancient Christian catacombs - to
the photogenic fishing hamlet of Klima
below (some remains of the old Roman port
here can be seen beneath the waves). In
Tripiti, the view from the Greco/Roman
amphitheatre is breathtaking.
Folegandros has some excellent beaches but
some effort is usually required to reach
them, although distances are not great. A
bus runs to Agali beach up to 10 times daily,
and also to the port from where you can
walk to a choice of beaches.Alternatively
hop on a small boat for those further afield,
such as lovely Katergo, sheltered by its
towering cliffs. Boat excursions also run to
neighbouring Sikinos.
There are over 70 beaches on the island, and
our featured village of Apollonia has its own
sweep of sand shaded by tamarisk trees, with
more beaches to either side. A charming
fishing village, Apollonia is renowned for the
excellence of its restaurants (four of the

Platy Yialos Hotel Platy Yialos, Sifnos
This long established hotel has a
prime spot directly above the sea at

the best position on the island.
The hotel has 25 well kept, fresh

Sometimes older hotels (which
usually have the best positions) rest
on their laurels, but that is far from
the case here. The hotel, although
simple, is more than comfortable
and frequent refurbishment has kept
it up to date. This was reflected in
the friendly happy atmosphere we

high modern standard.
There are just six rooms here. All are

has the top floor to itself and a large
very private sea view terrace.
A light continental breakfast is

Finikas Studios Adamas, Milos
In the same residential area as Villa
Venus, an approximate 5 minute
walk from both the town and
Papikinou beach, these nicely
furnished modern studios offer a
quiet location within easy reach of
everything you should need.
The 10 studios here are a mix of
twins and doubles. All possess A/C,
TV, Wifi, a basic 2 ring kitchenette,
fridge, hairdryer, room safe, shower

Like all our Milos accommodation
you will find the owner, Matina, to
be very friendly and helpful to her
guests. We think the Finikas
represent very good value for Milos.

Apollon Hotel Apollonia, Milos
What will make your holiday here
special is not just that you are
staying in the prettiest seaside
village on Milos, nor that the sea
here is sparkling and the restaurants
the best on the island - it is the
hospitality of Mrs Stavroula and her
family.
The accommodation is very simple
and split between two buildings.
The original building is directly
above the sea, facing the small
island of Kimolos. The rooms here
are old-style Greece - spotlessly
clean and traditionally furnished in
pine with simple decor, an en suite
shower room, and balcony with sea
or side sea views. The newer
building a minute's walk away has
slightly more modern furniture and
balcony views over the pool or
other buildings. All rooms have AC,
fridge, TV and hairdryer.
To the front of the original building
is a large terrace garden with sun
beds and seating, and to one side a
cafe-bar where a good home made
breakfast is taken. Below is a tiny
beach but most people prefer to
swim from the flat rocks to the side,
which create a natural swimming
pool.
You are 300m (a 5 minute walk)
from the main beach, restaurants
and harbour.

Greece | Aegean Islands | The Small Cyclades
Amorgos & Small Cyclades
The Small Cyclades are made up of five main
islands (Koufonissi, Schinoussa, Iraklia,
Donoussa and Keros) and dozens of tiny
ones, several of them uninhabited.
Intriguingly, they each manage to be
strikingly different from one another, with
characters all their own.
Clustered together between Naxos to the
north and Amorgos to the south, these
islands appeal to those who are interested in
that “off the beaten track” feel, who seek to
enjoy a quieter pace of life - people who
want their holidays to be uninterruptedly
relaxed. Beaches are fabulous and plentiful.
On the smaller islands of Koufonissi and
Schinoussa there is no public transport to
speak of and no car rental (as the islands are
so small). People get around on foot, bike or
taxi-boat - very Robinson Crusoe!
Such delights were always going to be
discovered sooner rather than later and the
islands have become increasingly busy
between mid-July and August - especially
noticeable on Koufonissi as the island is so
small and has but one village in which to
stay. But outside that period they revert to a
gentle, unhurried and traditional way of life.
All of the main islands are linked by a daily
(weather permitting) small return ferry
service between Amorgos and Naxos, as well
as some less regular but more up-to-date
high speed catamaran and ferry connections.
Amorgos
2 hrs from Mykonos by high speed ferry
8½ hrs from Athens by Blue Star line
ferry from Piraeus (First Class lounge) or
5½ hrs from Naxos (local ferry)
Amorgos is one of the most remote, yet most
beautiful, of all Greece's islands and remains
one of the least-known and visited of the
Cyclades, only approaching 'busy' during the
short high season.
Long and narrow, with mountains reaching
821m, Amorgos is a laid-back natural paradise
(600 species of flora have been catalogued to
date, and it is a haven for birds) offering
stunning views, excellent walking and a
traditional way of life now lost on many of the
more developed islands. The seas around the
island are crystal clear. The island was the
setting for Luc Besson's film The Big Blue.
The capital, inevitably called Chora, is about
halfway up the island above the south coast.
It is one of the most attractive Cycladic towns,
whitewashed with chapels and Venetian
fortifications to explore and a fair number of
decent cafés and characteristic tavernas.
It is a short walk from here, via a cobbled
donkey path, to the monastery of
Hozoviotissa which dates from 1088;
Amorgos' most famous attraction and still
with a handful of resident (and welcoming)
monks. The location is stunning - built into
the cliff high above the sea.
uninhabited, Pano has the densest
population in the Cyclades. But given the
island amounts to just 3.5 sq kms we are
hardly talking “crowded”!
Our holidays are based at the island's
picturesque second port of Aegialis - the first
is Katapola to the west - where you will find a
good sandy beach and selection of small
shops and tavernas. The island bus also runs
between the two and goes on to Chora,
although keen walkers could take the bus
one way and enjoy the beautiful 4-5 hour
trail back (or v.v.). In the hills above Aegialis
are three very traditional villages to explore,
places where donkeys still work for a living.
The island is a favourite with couples and
families alike, as the gently shelving beaches
are all the whitest sand and slide into the
kind of dazzlingly turquoise sea normally
associated with the Caribbean, making the
bathing and snorkelling exceptional. Take
note, though, that the beaches offer little in
the way of natural shade; however the more
sheltered south eastern coast is blessedly
protected from the meltemi wind which
usually blows in August.
Elsewhere the island has some largely
unexcavated sites to visit (Minoan, Hellenistic
and Roman) and a good number of chapels
in between.
August actually is the worst time to visit, as
the island, being so small, accommodated far
more visitors than it should.
We cannot stress enough how traditional an
island Amorgos is. It is, in many ways, that
cliched 'step back in time'. There are many
village festivals in the summer, where you
will genuinely experience the welcome and
hospitality Greece is famed for.
There is but the single, white-walled village
on a low, rising hill above the tiny harbour. It
has a wide choice of restaurants, tavernas,
cafes and small shops, many of which can be
found in the pretty pedestrianised main
street. There is a fine town beach, and 4 more
excellent beaches within walking distance (45
minutes maximum to Pori beach, the
furthest). Other than via water-taxi and
bicycle, and a high season beach bus, walking
is the only way to get around, and is one of
the reasons the island is so gloriously relaxed.
As walking is such a major attraction, with
every holiday here we include a 128 page
Visitor’s and Walker’s Guide to the island.
Koufonissi &
Schinoussa
1½ hrs from Mykonos by high speed
ferry (Koufonissi only)
7-8 hrs from Athens by Blue Star line
ferry from Piraeus (First Class lounge) or
2½ hrs from Naxos (local ferry)
Schinoussa is larger than Koufonissi but is
visited by fewer numbers, in part because its
jagged coastline and many beaches are not
distinguished by quite the same dazzling
Caribbean-style sand of its neighbour, even
though its emerald waters are just as inviting.
Please see our website for further details.
Koufonissi is actually 2 islands, Pano (Upper)
and Kato (Lower), and whereas Kato is

just above the beach is the taverna,
where breakfast is taken.

Pagali Hotel Langada Village, Amorgos
If you are searching for 'the real
Greece' you have found it! In the
heart of this very traditional village
on this very traditional island, the
Pagali is the perfect base for
walkers, nature lovers and anyone
looking for a true Greek escape.
The Hotel Pagali is in the heart of
the hill village of Langada, some 3
kms from Aegialis (aka Ormos) and
enjoys lovely views over the bay.
The hotel has 20 rooms, a mix of
standard rooms and studios, all very
nicely furnished in a traditional style
with shower room and balcony.
Mod cons include A/C, Wifi, fridge,
kettle, hairdryer and safety deposit
box. We'd recommend upgrading
to the Superior Studio rooms - very
spacious with kitchenette and seafacing balcony.
The hotel has a furnished roof
terrace and a well liked restaurant
serving a range of local dishes using
largely organic produce from their
own farm. You will find a few other
tavernas in the village, as well as a
mini-market and bakery, and a good
choice down in Aegiali. The nearest
beach is also at Aegiali - a beautiful
sandy bay shelving into the clearest
of seas - which can be reached on
foot in 30 minutes or in 5-10
minutes on the local bus (€1) or by
taxi (€5).
A free walking guidebook is
included in the price of all our
Amorgos holidays.

Langada Village
Villa Anna Koufonissi
Villa Anna is set on the hillside
above the far side of the beach and
looks towards sea and village. It is a
charming small boutique-style
guesthouse with an intimate
atmosphere and attention paid to
the small but important details.
The 10 studios here overlook the
attractive gardens. They have
beautiful light decor and stylish
furnishings, and are more akin to
rooms in a 4 star hotel than a simple
pension. All possess iron double
beds, a small separate hallway with
twin/double sofa-bed, a bathroom
with a swanky hydro-massage
shower, a small kitchen (2 rings,
fridge), and balcony or terrace with
garden or sea views. Room facilities
include AC, Wifi, room safe,
hairdryer and TV (BBC World).
Below to the front there is a
pleasant cafe where an excellent
breakfast is served, and here is
usually the family, who are very
friendly and service oriented.
A rough path leads down the small
hill to the beach in just 3 minutes,
and it is a 5 minute walk to the
central street.
Everything about Anna's is high
quality - we really could not find
anything to fault.
