represented the interests of the local business
community since 1921. Our members know
that by working together, we play a leading

of the Lakes Region!
A calendar of events for 2009 is included on
pages 28 & 29. We hope you’ll take note of
our many events and activities and plan to
join us for any or all of them. You can also get
up-to-the-minute information on what’s going in
our region on by visiting our Chamber website
at www.mainelakeschamber.com.
On pages 44 through 46 you will find a directory of Chamber members organized by their

Finally, we are pleased to partner with Lakes
Environmental Association to bring you the
regional map on pages 24 & 25. This newly
revised map has been expanded to include
the entire Lakes Region and is both easy to
read and accurate.
In addition to the beauty of our area, it’s the
communities that really make it special. The
Greater Bridgton Lakes Region consists of
thirteen quaint towns and villages. Each hosts
annual events filled with fun and exciting things
to do for the whole family. From its earliest
days, residents of the area have valued the
need to build community bonds and promote
citizen involvement. Today we have a strong
social infrastructure formed around everything
from the arts and downtown beautification to
recreation and economic development.
With so much to do and see in and around the
Lakes Region, you might need help planning
your day or stay. You’ll be surprised at what
you find nestled between Sebago Lake and
the Saco River. The options are endless and
no matter what you choose to do, it will be
done in a gorgeous setting. You can learn more
and get up-to-the minute information by visiting
our website at www.mainelakeschamber.com.
Each of the thirteen towns of the Lakes Region
our Chamber serves is unique in what it has to
offer, and we also encourage you to visit their
individual websites when available.
Activities, spectacular scenery, history, culture
and entertainment--there are so many reasons
to visit.

Boat Launches
We all love clean water. It only takes one boater to do immeasurable
damage to our vulnerable ponds and lakes. Invasive water plants, such
as milfoil, are spread by boats, which pick them up at one infested lake
and carry them to another. Boat wash stations are available at some boat
launch sites in the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Area. And Courtesy
Inspectors are often on hand to help inspect boats for plants. All launch
sites include signs explaining the need for such inspections. After you’ve
checked that your gas tank is full, your lunch is packed and your gear is
stored, please check and remove any vegetation from your boat.

Snowmobile Enthusiasts
Opportunities abound for you to view miles of the Lakes Region’s
countryside, see wildlife in natural habitats and socialize with friends
when you explore our area via snowmobile. More than 600 miles of
trails, including key corridors ITS80 and ITS89 are well-groomed and
marked for your day, weekend or entire weeklong trip. Many area
businesses cater to snowmobiles; restaurants and motels even have
trails to their doorsteps. Once there, warm up, savor a hot meal, then
head back out for some night riding.
Be fair to other riders and property owners by obeying the signs and
staying on the trails. Private landowners give permission to ride on their
property. Remember to ride right and respect the land.
In Bridgton, the Easy Rider Snowmobile Club hosts free snowmobile
rides during the Mushers Bowl/Winter Carnival in January and a Poker
Run in February. Naples hosts a Winter Carnival in February. Check
out the following websites for more information: http://geocities.com/
bridgtoneasyriders or www.mainelakeschamber.com. Snowmobile trail
maps are for sale in area businesses and at the Chamber Information
Center. Snowmobile registration is available at town offices or online.
For information about renting snowmobiles, check out Fryeburg Snowmobile Rentals at www.sledandbed.com.
Whether day tripping or trailing from home, come enjoy the beauty
of the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region, magnified in the winter months
