Festival Ballet Providence Benefit Concert Celebrates Rhode Island

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: RUTH DAVIS ([email protected]) FESTIVAL BALLET PROVIDENCE BENEFIT CONCERT CELEBRATES RHODE ISLAND WOMEN CHOREOGRAPHERS February 15th concert to showcase eleven choreographers, proceeds benefit Women’s Center of Rhode Island On Valentine's Day weekend, Festival Ballet Providence will present She Moves: A Dance Concert to benefit the Women’s Center of Rhode Island, Sunday February 15th, 2015 at 6:00 pm. The performance will take place at the FBP Black Box Theater, (825 Hope Street, Providence, East Side) and will showcase contemporary and modern dance works by eleven women choreographers from the greater Rhode Island area. The roster of choreographers is: Andrea Dawn Shelley, Shura Baryshnikov, Betsy Miller, Ali Kenner Brodsky, Meghan Carmichael, Stephanie Turner, Katie McNamara, Jessica Howard, Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp, Heidi Henderson and Cathy Nicoli; a number of these women are recipients of Rhode Island State Council on the Arts choreography fellowships. Six of the works will be Rhode Island premieres or world premieres. Closing the show, all 11 choreographers will dance in an ensemble work choreographed by four­time RISCA choreography fellowship recipient, Heidi Henderson. The concert will include an intermission reception with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants. Additionally, a short panel discussion will follow the performance.
