PMR 2 Manual Resuscitator
The PMR 2 Manual Resuscitator is a portable, manually powered
resuscitator designed for emergency lung ventilation. It is
available in infant, child and adult sizes. The child and adult
models incorporate a single pressure relieving valve with an
optional non-pressure relieving cap. The infant model has a
pressure relieving valve.
Three different systems for administering supplemental
oxygen are also available. A special oxygen supply valve
designed expressly for the PMR 2 can deliver oxygen
concentrations of 100%. An oxygen accumulator accessory
provides nominal concentrations up to 95%. A direct-feed, smallbore tube supplies nominal concentrations up to 50%. Two
storage cases with optional hanging brackets are available.
An optional PEEP accessory helps restore and maintain pressure
in the airway during procedures requiring ventilator disconnect and
resuscitation. An airway pressure gauge, which can be attached
directly to the ventilator support arm, is available to monitor patient
airway pressure and to calibrate the PEEP accessory.

The Mercury Medical Disposable Pressure Manometer is
the first disposable manometer to reliably monitor BOTH
proper inflation pressure and PEEP pressure during manual
ventilation with Mercury’s CPR and Hyperinflation Systems.
And now the Mercury Medical Disposable Pressure
Manometer is available with a color-coded label for
improved visibility of pressure ranges.
The PEEP Valve works by applying an internal gas pressure to
hold the alveolus open throughout inspiration and expiration.
This internal pressure aids in the prevention of atelectasis and
associated shunt conditions.1

The VORTRAN Automatic Resuscitator (VAR™) is a unique single patient
use, disposable resuscitator. It provides consistent, reliable, hands-free
ventilatory support via a mask or endotracheal tube using a continuous gas
flow source. The Model RC has a gas entrainment feature for the delivery
of 50% FiO2 by entraining room air, significantly reducing the consumption
of oxygen. The versatile VAR-Plus (Model PCM) is suitable for pediatric
and adult patients (body mass of 10 kg and above). The VARs are to be
used by properly trained personnel for the delivery of short term, constantflow pressure-cycled ventilatory support in emergency and hospital
environments. They are cost competitive and provide more consistent
ventilation than manual resuscitators.

The VORTRAN oxygen regulator is a standard E-cylinder
Standards for Function and Safety
oxygen regulator, custom manufactured for the oxygen flow
requirements unique to the VORTRAN Automatic Resuscitator
(see Length of Use table) product line. The VORTRAN oxygen
regulator delivers a measured flow of oxygen via the eleven
position selector (0, 4, 6, 8, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 LPM).
The regulator can be set to deliver oxygen flow of 20-40 L/min
for operating the VORTRAN Automatic Resuscitator to deliver
100% FiO2. It can also deliver oxygen flow at 6-15 L/min to
operate the VORTRAN Automatic Resuscitator Model RC,
delivering 50% FiO2 by entraining room air.
