Every year around Mother’s Day the biggest challenges in my part of the job are time, volume, and temperature. To get lots of products - in a very short period of time - at the best temperature at their destinations…
A real dare! But I am very happy to hear all our shipments arrived in good order.
In this weeks Insights edition we focus on the green section of our product rang. We present you our beautiful, fresh and bright colored flowers in different shades of green and we hope to inspire you. Enjoy your

Since tomorrow is Ascension Day the auctions
will be closed. This will probably give some extra
supply and demand on Friday’s auction. It is
always a guess what will happen with the pricing
on these kind of days.
Next week, after Mother’s Day, the peace will be
returned. The bulb season is coming to an end
and the last Tulips, Daffodils and Hyacinths are
now offered.
With the start of the wedding season we prepare
for new products and hopefully good weather!
PS Do not forget: Holex Flower is also closed on
Ascension Day!

Calla is for many brides at the top of the list as
wedding flower. The flower has a confident,
modern look and represents purity and sympathy. Calla is available in spectacular colors. To
start with white and yellow through pink, red

LADY’S MANTLE

Alchemilla, or Lady’s Mantle, is a very popular product during the wedding season. In the Middle Ages
the name Lady’s Mantle was given to the flower,
probably because the fan-like leaves look like a wide
cloak. Lady’s Mantle is a fantastic easy product to
process in a romantic bridal bouquet or floral arrangement.

GROWER IN THE SPOTLIGHT:
De Haas Calla’s
CALLA (ZANTEDESCHIA)
We take a little walk in the greenhouse of De Haas Callas, a Calla
grower located in De Lier, The Netherlands. Martijn Warmerdam
is showing us the greenhouse and the beautiful Calla varieties
they grow.
De Haas Callas produces over 3 million stems of Callas from
week 12 to week 47. In the greenhouse they growers grows
numerous varieties of Calla’s in various colors: Crystal Blush,
Garnet Glow, Odessa, Mint Julip and Paco. The colors vary from
bright white to pink and from deep purple to soft yellow.
The quality of the produced cut flowers is high. This is because
De Haas Callas only uses the highest quality Calla bulbs. In the
greenhouse the climate conditions are controlled very accurate
to get a perfect result.
