Use your member number when registering, and record if you are on the cart plan (CP) or rental cart (RC). Guests are Jason Fitch, Golf Pro to be signed in as well, and please make sure your guests are aware of the dress code policies. Guest fees must be registered to the member’s account. Guests are not allowed to pay cash for green fees, but credit cards are allowed. In-County Guest Play … In county guests are allowed to play three times a year. We love showing off our course to new potential members, but if they can play more than three times a year, we need to have them join and have fun year round. This rule is in effect for family members who live in town also. Sons and daughters that move out of the house or get married are considered guests. They are no longer covered by the family membership of the parent, or once they have reached the age of 25. The member is responsible for notifying their guests of the dress code. Driving Range … is the place to improve your game. The driving range will close daily at 7:00 with the last balls being passed out at 6:30. All golf balls are to be picked up from behind the counter. Balls (or bags) are not to be taken from the range. If you are not on the range plan, you will be charged when hitting balls that you have not paid for. Anyone who practices much at all, the range plan with unlimited balls is a value for everyone. Please keep in mind the club policy of keeping the balls inside the fence. Custom Club Fitting … is the way to go. No charge, as long as the clubs are bought from our club. I have completed many Fitting Seminars and are both available to fit you for your next set of clubs. The fitting fees are $45, credited off your next club purchase. We can order clubs from any manufacture for you! Upcoming Events at your club coming soon… Parent-Child Tourney … Play either June 18th or June 19th. The event is a selective drive, alternate shot. Anyone can play and anyone can win. Kevin’s Klippings April Rains … May Rains … Hail damaged Flowers! April showers bring May flowers and more rain. We accomplished our annual flower planting last month. Unfortunately the hail storm damaged many of the new flowers. We replaced a few of them and I hope the others make it ok and produce some great color for us throughout the club property this season. Zinnias and ageratums were two of the different varieties that we tried this time. Kevin Glover, Certified Golf Course Superintendent The wet, cool and overcast weather has the flowers and turf confused. I have recorded 6.9” of rain in the first two weeks of May and 6” of that came in 3 days. We had a light frost May 15 which is about as late as we will ever see frost. Nothing is growing that well except for the roughs. The greens took longer to heal after aerification. That has been a common theme for everyone I have talked to. The bentgrass has not responded to fertility treatments during the cool, wet weather. They are still a little slower (green speed) than normal, but seem to be rolling true. The bermuda and zoysia grasses are not growing much either. The fairways greened up early this year. After green-up the cool and wet weather caused them to stop growing and be off color. During the first few mowings, we scalp them down to a ½” tall. It takes most of the leaf tissue off the plant removing the old dormant Tennis Here is the complete schedule for June: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30-10:15 a.m. – Quick Start (6 and under) 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. – Advanced Youth Program (7-10 year olds) 12:15-1:45 p.m. – Junior Development Program (11-18 year olds) 1:45-3:15 p.m.- High Performance Program (11-18 years olds) Tuesday 10:15-11:15 a.m. – Ladies Beginner & Intermediate Clinics Wednesday 10:15-11:15 a.m. – Stroke of the week (Men & Women, all levels) Clubhouse Hours Tuesday – Thursday Friday & Saturday Sunday Brunch Sunday Bar Hours The Champion bermuda chipping green does not look to good either. I cannot blame it all on the weather. Evidently, something I have applied did not agree with it. The tips of the leaf blades looked damaged and it’s not growing enough to allow the damaged tips to be mowed off. I believe as it warms that turf should bounce back and be ok. Have A Great Summer! Thursday 10:15-11:15 a.m. – Ladies Advanced Clinics Dear members, Olga Chernova Tennis Pro leaf blades. The thin turf cover allows the sun to warm soil quicker. As always 1, 9, and 18 are the last fairways to completely green-up. They are of a different variety of Bermuda than the rest of the fairways and require more warm days to green up. The forecast looks favorable for early June with plenty of hot days and warm nights. 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday 10 a.m. – Match play (Advanced Youth, Junior Development, High Performance) Saturday 1 p.m. – Couples doubles Sunday 1 p.m. – Men’s Open Singles & Doubles Play Please remember to wear tennis shoes on the clay courts and sign in yourself and your guest for every practice session.
