Who We Are...
Deadlines & Policies
The Shield is the student newspaper at the University of Southern Indiana. The Shield has
published every year since 1968 and has been online at www.usishield.com since 2002.
We are a member of Indiana Collegiate Press Association, Associated Collegiate Press
Association and College Newspaper Business & Advertising Managers.
The Shield distributes 2,500 papers to nearly 30 of the
most populated campus locations every Thursday.
All advertising copy is subject to review by The Shield Sales Director and Editor-in-Chief.
DISPLAY ADS
The deadline for reserving your advertising space for a traditional display ad is noon Friday
preceding publication.
The deadline for camera-ready ads is noon Monday preceding publication.
Any changes to an ad after noon Monday will incur a $5 charge.
ONLINE ADS
To place an ad on www.usishield.com, you must notify your sales consultant three business days prior
to placement.
CLASSIFIEDS
Deadline is noon Monday.
PRE-PRINTED INSERTS
All insert content must be approved by your sales consultant six business days prior to placement.
Pre-printed inserts must be sent to The Henderson Gleaner five business days prior to insertion.


PAYMENT POLICIES AND INFORMATION
All payments are processed through the University of Southern Indiana accounting department.
The Shield ensures the preparation of invoices and tear sheets in a timely manner. We ensure that
your business will receive an invoice and tear sheet no later than 30 days after the run date. Prepayment is accepted but not required.
Any questions or requests regarding your billing, including requests for electronic tear sheets and
invoices, can be answered by our business manager at [email protected].
