NOTEWORTHY FEATURES OF WJPA
Over the years since 1986, WJPA has won state-wide awards from
Associated Press, Golden Quill and U.P.I. including Best News Operation,
Best Newscast, Best Sports Play-by-Play and Best Public Affairs.
WJPA is known for sports coverage. We do our best to broadcast the
action that means most to area residents including Pittsburgh Pirates,
Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL Football and Pony League World Series. Contests
of special interest are high school football, wrestling, basketball and baseball.

Contests, events, staff information and an on-air guide are also found on the
web. Development of the site is continually underway, so visitors may regularly

Station staff members proudly represent WJPA through public service to
area organizations: The Salvation Army, Washington County Tourism,
Washington Communities Health and Wellness Committee, PONY League
World Series, the Washington City Mission, and the Washington Kiwanis Club.

Weekdays, it’s Oldies plus...

Weekends on the FM...
On Saturday, news, sports and weather airs
at the top of every hour, 6am through Noon.
Bill DiFabio Sports airs after the news in
the 6am, 7am and 8am hours. The report
