INTERNATIONAL CLAIMS CORRESPONDENTS
CLAIMS PROCEDURES
Shipowners and Charterers insured by the Underwriter are required, pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4 of the General
Terms and Conditions of the Policy of Insurance, to notify it immediately of any incident or occurrence likely to give rise to
a claim under the Policy of Insurance.
Notification should be made in writing to the Underwriter at the address specified in the Certificate of Insurance. Claims
personnel may be contacted outside office hours, in the event of an emergency, by telephoning the Underwriter’s duty
claims mobile number.
In matters of urgency where it is neither possible nor practicable to notify the Underwriter of a casualty or event, the
Assured should contact the Underwriter’s local Correspondent for guidance and assistance.
CORRESPONDENTS
The Correspondents listed in the following pages are not agents of the Underwriter and in accordance with clause 4.8 of
the General Terms and Conditions of the Policy of Insurance, shall be deemed in every event to be instructed by the
Assured. The Underwriter shall not be responsible for any act or default of Correspondents and shall not be bound by
any report of, or advice given by or course of action taken by, Correspondents.
Notification of claims and service of any notice in accordance with clause 10 of the General Terms and Conditions of the
Policy of Insurance must be made to the Underwriter. No such notification shall be valid if made upon Correspondents.
Those Correspondents marked with an asterisk (*) are legal practitioners. All other Correspondents offer commercial and
technical expertise.
International Direct Dialling (IDD) codes and time differences from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) are provided for each
country. Local area codes are provided where applicable.
