A Special Salute to Our Bingo Workers!
B
ingo was first played in the United
States in 1929 at a carnival near Atlanta, Georgia. By 1934 an estimated
10,000 bingo games were played weekly,
and is still popular today with millions of
people enjoying this favorite game. Ararat
Shrine has Bingo every Thursday night,
and if you have ever attended one of our
games, you know that it takes a lot of dedicated workers to make sure every detail is
taken care of during the session. We want
to take this opportunity to thank all of our
Bingo workers for the job they do for Ararat
Shrine. The following photos were taken
during one of our Thursday night games. If
you have never played Bingo we invite you
to join us on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm. If
you would like to come earlier we have Early Bird games beginning at 6:15 pm. Come
see for yourself what a great group of Bingo
Workers we have at Ararat Shrine.

elcome to summer as the heat is definitely here. The parade season is here also and the Warsaw Shrine Club rolled out the red
carpet once again for us at the Warsaw parade. The weather was
great and the hospitality was over the top. Thanks for a good time Warsaw
Shrine Club.
The weather wasn’t as nice to us for the Car Show on June 13th as the
rain forced a reschedule for June 27th. Hopefully by the time you are reading
this, the weather cooperated and the Car Show was a great success. Wayne
Spencer, Roger Krone and a new Ararat member, LB spent a great deal of
time and effort, and the hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated.
Thank you also to the Antique Auto and Ole Cars for their hard work as well.
The Wings of Mercy Golf Tournament at Winter Stone on Monday,
June 15th was also a huge success. The committee put together a great golf
tournament and the funds raised well exceeded our expectations.
Again at the writing of this article, the Boonville Cold Sands Ceremonial
will have already taken place. We are hoping to bring in some new candidates
and are positive Boonville will put on a great ceremonial.
July brings the Imperial Session in Toronto this year and we look forward
to a good trip with some good information from Imperial to report in next
month’s newsletter. Sugar Creek is hosting their annual 4th of July Parade
and even though it is a volunteer parade I am hoping we provide them with
a great Shrine turnout.
CSSA this year is going to be in Oklahoma City and we encourage all
that wish to attend to get your reservations into the Ararat Business Office by
July 15th. This is necessary to get the rooms booked at the hotel. We are sure
this will be a great CSSA with many awards for the unit competitions and the
parade. The Aides have a great time and great food planned for everyone.
You definitely will not leave Oklahoma City hungry and without a good time.
We hope to see you there supporting Ararat.
BJ Richardson has kicked off the 2010 Circus and has introduced a new
marketing campaign that is sure to bring the Circus to new heights. Please
contact BJ for information on circus collections and incentives.
Have a great summer and stay cool.

It’s not too late to make this a

the club or unit makes they will keep

Drawings will be made randomly and winnings will be mailed
monthly. The winning numbers will be posted on the Ararat website:

Hospital News
“Helping Kids”
By Russ Cooksey,
President Saline
County Shrine Club
and Hospital
Committee Member
On Saturday, May 8, 2010, all the
Shriners gathered in Marshall for the
Saline County Shrine parade. As everyone knows we do a live broadcast
until line-up time. During my first
speech at 9:00 am I was talking about
the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
We discussed the different
things each hospital does including the burn units. While
I was talking a lady pulled
up and waited until the interview was completed, and
said “Sir, I need help with
my 8 month old child, he
has club feet”. She wanted to
know if we would help. I said,
“YES” and helped her fill out
an application and she completed the application immediately knowing help was
there. A photo of the child is
included at right.
Noble John Rieves and
I were at the dry cleaners
picking up parade uniforms on May
7, and as we were talking to the ladies
a customer walked in and asked if we
were Shriners, and we proudly said
yes. She said she needed help with her
child and we helped her fill out an application.
This is what the Shrine is all
about “Helping Kids” so we helped
two children in two days. Shriners,
remember our purpose is to help
children, but have a good time doing
it. Our Shrine parade is one way to
make everyone aware of what Shriners stand for and how they help the
children. We were amazed at the
number of people who came before
the parade with their
children to meet
the Shriners and see
the parade toys. For
such a small club we
help a lot of children
in more ways than
one. This is what
the Shrine should
stand for! We are
making plans to
have a larger crowd
with more children
from the surrounding counties for next
year. We may be
small but we are a
mighty club.
Hospital System
Heroes
For the month of May the following Nobles have sponsored children into the Shrine Hospitals. If
your name has never appeared in this
column, consider getting involved.
It will not only change your life, but
will be a life changing experience for
a child and his family.

We encourage every man in Ararat to become a driver. It will require

Food

I
By STEVE DOWDY
f a waiter or Sommelier in a fine restaurant opens your wine, he should
place the cork near the host. Then,
he will wipe the mouth of the bottle
with his napkin, and pour about an
ounce of wine into the host’s glass so
that he or she can evaluate the wine.
If you’re the host, and also the
Sommelier, you will have to make
some adjustments to the above noted
procedure. It’s probably not good
form for you to judge the wine that
you are presenting to your guests, so
I guess you’ll need to allow the most
important guest to evaluate it. Most
of us will probably have enough sense
to allow our wives to be the most important guest, but maybe you’d better ask her first. Many Ladies might
find it a bit intimidating.
Once the wine is approved, you
should pour for your guests. It would
be best if you would move around
the table, serving from the right side.
Your own glass should be filled last.
To prevent drips, twist the bottle as
you move it up and away from each
glass.
Glasses should be filled about
1/3, which allows guests to swirl the
wine. Since Champagne should not
be swirled, fill Champagne glasses
about 3/4 full.
All of this opening and pouring
protocol is very impressive if you’re
trying to impress some terribly important people, but probably not so
important if your guest is your wife.
There’s no doubt that she is terribly
important, but maybe you don’t need
to impress her terribly. Just be sure
that you don’t pour the wine in her
lap.
Presentation of the cork to the
host goes way back to the days when
bottles were unlabeled. To prevent
unscrupulous restaurateurs from
passing off ordinary wine as fine
wine, wineries branded their corks.
Waiters would present the cork to
the host to verify a wine’s identity.
While the presentation of the cork is
still a part of the opening procedure
today, it no longer serves a truly useful purpose.

ow, what a time we had in June!!!!
Parades, practice and plenty of everything else. We continue to do
our fundraiser at Worth Harley Davidson, and
we have also been very fortunate to sell several
bags of Vidalia Onions up there as well. Speaking of Worth, several of our members and ladies assisted with traffic duty at
the Open House Weekend at Worth’s new facility on Prairie View Road. It
was hard work and at times could be very frustrating, but we were glad to
be able to help out the guys at Worth, as they have been very good to this
unit and are big supporters of the Shrine and our Circus.
We are also sending our staunch support and best wishes for a successful IASMC meeting, convention and competition in Toronto, Canada this
year. Our very own Woody Woodward is this year’s IASMC President and
we wish him and Lady Frances all the best and safe travels home.
We look forward to doing some maneuvers at the parades this year, and
we can always use good riders. If you would like to ride with us, give our
Membership Chairman, Woody Woodward a call at 816-728-3102.

he June meeting of the Rakla Shrine
Club was held at the home of Dave and
Nora Hutchison, who hosted a Fish
Fry for club members and guests. They provided us with all the delicious fish we could
eat, plus some other goodies (such as Nora’s
pink lemonade). We have some great cooks
in the club and they supplied us with salads,
casseroles and desserts. There were 31 present to enjoy the perfect weather, wonderful food and great company. We are already
looking forward to next year at Dave and
Nora’s. Thanks for your hospitality!
President John Foster welcomed all present, with a special “welcome” for Sheriff Porter and his family. The “bad guys” have kept
him so busy, this was the first time this year
he was able to be with us. “Hurrah!”
President Foster conducted a short business meeting. Onion sales were finished and
were a great success. Congratulations to all
involved. Treasurer Lowry Ford reported he
has over $4,000.00 in cash, but had not paid
any bills as yet.
Representatives from the Shrine were
Shrine Club Director Charley Swafford and
Lady Rose and Ambassador Curt Karnes,
Lady Sue and Curt’s son. Curt and Charley
brought us up-to-date on the coming events
at the Shrine.
The next meeting will be in September at
President John and Lady Kay Foster’s home
near Lathrop. Our menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Thanks, John! Looking forward to seeing all of you there and invite a guest to join us.

JULY 2010
Oriental Band LadiesWithout Nobles
By Dave Wilbanks, Scribe
W
ell, here we are in the
month of July. “WOW”
7 months already gone.
I don’t know about anyone else but
it seems to me that this year is going by pretty fast. Let’s see what has
been going on since last time I wrote.
Hmmm! We had a parade in Warsaw,
MO at the beginning of the month. I
was told that we had a good turn out.
Way to go guys.
We haven’t had our monthly
meeting when this was written so I
don’t have too much to say, other than
some things needed to be worked out
with our line and President Waco
has it under control. By this time he
should have some dates when we can
get together as a unit for a cook-out
and maybe another dinner. So if you
are an O.B. member and haven’t been
able to do as much as you would like,
maybe we will see you at one of these
events. Check your monthly mailer
for event dates and where they will be
held or maybe President Waco will
have someone just give you a call.
I have a question? If nobody tells
him anything how is that Noble Steve
Dowdy knows so much???? It seems
that every month just about every
page has his name on it with something that he wrote. Don’t get me
wrong, I am glad that nobody tells
him anything. That way he can keep
on writing all those great articles for
everybody to read. Thanks Steve and
keep up the good work.
Once again we have to say good
bye to Noble Don Lanning who has
decided to go back over to England to
be with his wife. So to Don, hope you
had a safe flight.
Till next month. Be Safe.

n May a delicious luncheon of BBQ Beef was enjoyed by twenty-six of our ladies. The weather was fine---no snow—no downpours—no icy roads. We’re
looking forward to many more nice Saturdays to enjoy being with old friends.
(That doesn’t mean “old in years particularly); but, “old” as in many years of
past friendships. It was certainly worth the trip (mine is 40 miles each way) to
see our friends and catch up on all the news.
Come join us on “our Saturday”. We miss some familiar faces from the

Nobles Anthony Martin and Curtis

participated in four parades so far
this year, Richmond, Marshall, Warsaw and Boonville. We have two parades in July, Clinton will be on July

We may go to Sugar Creek on July

June Temple Meeting Notes

I
llustrious Sir Kevin Sleyster called
the June, 2010, meeting to order
at 7:35 PM. Our Temple was under a double and trusty guard, and
there were none present save members of our order.
Chaplain Loyd Gentry was absent, so Illustrious Sir Kevin called
on High Priest and Prophet Dave
Bushakra who gave the Invocation.
Immediately after the National
Anthem, the meeting was suspended
for presentation of 50 Year pins to a
total of 11 Nobles, some of whom
were not in attendance.
Illustrious Sirs Don Hartstack,
12 | ARARAT SHRINE NEWS
P.P., and Billy Wheeler, P.P., both
earned 50 Year Membership Pins,
which may be the first time that two
Past Potentates from the same Novice Class attained that honor. Noble
Robert Mutz brought his family for
his presentation, and Nobles Bernell
Raye and Robert Miller were present. 50 year Nobles who were not in
attendance included Leo Coleman,
Robert McLeroy, Sollie McLeroy,
Jr., George Wimmer, Kenneth Cannon and Robert Courtney.
Fifty-five Nobles received their
first Crown of Honor Jewel, eight
Nobles received Jewels 26 to 137,
and three received Jewels numbered 240 or higher. Noble Wayne
Cantwell now has 365 Jewels, followed by Noble Red Cox with 363,
and Noble Hal Smith with 241. A
total of 455 Crown of Honor Awards
were earned last year.
The meeting returned to order at
8:00 pm.
We next elected 2 new nobles,
bringing the total of Novices for the
year to thirty-two. Eight new Nobles were in attendance.
Our Treasurer, Noble Dan
Smothers, reported that we still have
some money, but we’re not getting
rich. Expenses for the month exceeded income.
After the call for gifts and donations, the Golden Valley Shrine Club
donated money to the 2010 Circus
and one Carrroll County Shrine Club
member gave a little to just about everybody, just because he wanted to
do so! Membership Chairman Rod
McGrath presented the profits from
sales of Foreigner musical CD’s that
he sold at a concert. The group has
a history of supporting the Shriners
Hospitals. Rod also presented smaller amount of local contributions to
the Telemedicine operation.
JULY 2010
Chief Rabban B. J. Richardson
reported that the 2010 Ararat Shrine
Circus Scrip program is going well.
The Mounted Guard has made
enough money for their traditional
school children’s performance.
Chief Rabban B.J. also told us
that the restaurant is doing pretty
well, turning a profit last month, but
showing a small loss for the current
month. The picture continues to
improve.
High Priest and Prophet Dave
Bushakra said that the Vidalia Onion
sale was a huge, huge success! About
11,050 bags were sold, resulting in
about $20,000 profit to the Temple.
Oriental Guide Wayne Spencer
reported on the Car Show and the
Golf Tournament, both of which will
be history by the time you read this.
More will be written next month.
First Ceremonial Master Maurice Camerlynck told us that the recent Ceremonial was a success, and
a good time was had by all. It is obvious that it takes an entire Temple
to have a Ceremonial. Thanks to everybody!
Noble Buck Johnson presented

Hospital Chairman Ed Stowell
gave us good news from the Hospital Committee. Our first patient
was sent to Galveston since the hurricane, meaning that the Galveston
Burns Center is now operational.
We received invoices for air ambulance services, half of which were
paid by Imperial. We made 12 trips
to the St. Louis Hospital and bought
28 airplane tickets and used 18 free
tickets provided by Southwest Airlines for patient transportation. Our
Hospital Transportation van now
has 165,000 miles and will soon be
sold at sealed auction. A blood drive
will be held at the Temple from
Noon until 6:00 pm before the August 11 meeting. Your support will
be appreciated.
Membership Chairman Rod
McGrath said that we are almost
even with our losses from death and
demits, but we still have about 350
Nobles who have not yet paid their
2010 dues. Remember that new Nobles will get an Imperial Potentate’s
pin and so will the Top Line Signer.
Thirteen Past Potentates were
present at this meeting.

Blue Springs Shrine Club
By fred harle, p.p.
W
ell now, here we go again
with a hello to you out
there from all of us at the
Blue Springs Shrine Club. To start
off, we are saddened to report the
loss of one of our most active members, Noble Victor Walters, who
was summoned by the Black Camel
on June 11, 2010. Noble Victor was
a retired Army Master Sergeant and
a WW II Veteran, and a long time
member of our Blue Springs Shrine
Club. His presence among us at our
activities will be greatly missed.
We recently had our Annual
Summer Picnic at Lake JacomoFleming Park. Noble Victor was
with us then, as were a shelter house
full of BSSC members. We were
privileged to also have our favorite
Ambassador Noble Bud Higginbotham and pretty Lady Carol with us,
and also Ambassador Ken Sisemore
and pretty Lady Mary. Kind of a
double whammy, but how lucky can
you get. A whole bunch of thanks to
these fine gentlemen for all the time
and effort they display on behalf of
Ararat Shrine.
How about our President Noble
Bill Fickle working at the grill? (pic)
He also brought his pretty girlfriend,
Whitney, all the way from Oklahoma. We have so many great nobles
working hard for our club like Vice
President Noble James Gargotta

nstead of our annual picnic meeting held in June at the state park, it was decided to have an Appreciation Steak Dinner to recognize all the members and
guests who have supported the club throughout the year. We were treated to
“cooked to order steaks,” baked potatoes, green beans and cole slaw, which was
prepared and served by the Elks staff. The staff was recognized for their efforts
in providing such an excellent meal.
In addition, President Higginbotham wished to take this opportunity to
recognize the volunteer efforts of nobles and ladies who made the onion sales
fundraiser a success with 400 bags sold in 10 days. The nobles each received
an embroidered cap with the Houn Dawg Shrine Club logo, and the ladies
received a leather crafted cell phone case. The nobles are pictured at right.
(Sorry, ladies, you didn’t get included in the photo.) The ladies recognized included Beverly Kennedy, Linda Higginbotham, Lyla Marshall and Jackie Key.
Thanks for giving of your time (and selling mostly in the rain)!
Only one business item was discussed. Marvin Cass requested the club consider sponsoring girls from the Knob Noster area who will be initiated as Rainbow Girls by the Springfield General Assembly on June 27. The club approved
sponsoring 4 girls at $77 each to cover their expenses.
As of this writing, President Higginbotham has had his knee replacement
surgery and is recuperating at home. He hopes to return for the September

(pic). We caught Noble Jerry White
and pretty Lady Jan enjoying a picnic meal, and boy oh boy do we ever
eat good.
President Bill introduced our entertainment for the picnic, the Short
Leaf Band, with Miss Tenley Hansen
on the keyboard, and Michael Fraser,
fiddle player and historian. Not only
did Michael play an amazing fiddle,
but he also gave us an accounting of
some historical facts about the area
we live in, and how we can came to
acquire it; very interesting.
Well, I guess I better quit for
this time. Remember, we are Masons

the beginning to love one another.
So let’s practice it more often.

meeting as a “new and improved” version over what the club has had to endure
for the past 5 months! (Just kidding.) Everyone enjoy your summer and hope
to see you in September.
The above Nobles were recognized with caps for their participation in
the onion sales fundraiser: Back Row: Glen Hennis, Terry Kennedy, and Bill
Brenner. Middle Row: Charles Teter, Wendell Davis, Bill Ketcherside, Bill
Marshall, Jack Wharton, Marvin Cass, and Fred Higginbotham (sorry Fred,
didn’t want to get a picture of the bad knee). Front Row: Denny Norcross, David Key and Les Stewart. Not pictured but receiving caps: Chad Davis, Fred
Kohler, and Russ Coleman. Thanks Nobles for all your hard work!

We hope everyone is having a
safe and fun summer.
Sorry we have not had an article for the past few months due
to health concerns on my part. Although it has been a tough time, I
have tried to keep up with the club’s
activities and concerns.
Due to a building rental on
June 12th, our club’s 50 Year Building Celebration was moved to July
17th. We understand the last minute
change of date was at the last minute,
but it gives us officers more time to
make this a truly fun and memorable
celebration and a time to remember.
Speaking of building rentals, our
club is the perfect place to hold your
party or celebration. We rely on our
rentals to help us with our building’s
expenses and the cost to maintain
this wonderful club’s property and
grounds. Call Building Manager
Bob Burns (816-809-3584) for information on how we can help you.
Now is the time to start planning your BBQ teams’ strategies
for our 3rd Annual Old Time BBQ
Contest, being held on August 13th
and 14th. We will have the set-up of
equipment on Friday morning and
afternoon. There will be a live Blues
Band and great BBQ to eat on Friday night, with dancing and a great
time to be had by all who attend.
Saturday morning will be the
tasting and judging and ribbons
and prizes will be awarded around
Noon. For a $60.00 registration fee
your team can enjoy all the fun and
show us your BBQ secrets and cooking abilities. Contact Steve Holbrook (816-356-8094) to get your
registration form and more information. We also have room for your
company’s banner to advertise your
business or talents. Ask Steve more
about this service.
www.araratshrine.com M
any of you may have wondered what has happened to all of Ararat’s Past Potentates and
their Ladies. Well, they are well and happy doing whatever tickles their fancy. Fancy, I wonder whoever came up with that term to define whatever??
These gentlemen who devoted nearly 12 years of service to our Shrine still gather together to shoot the bull,
but for the most part just to bend their elbow and watch
their mouths open up. You guessed it! Eating and talking about their golf scores, or their aches and pains. One
such gathering was recently held at the home of Past Potentate Ill. Sir Howard McHenry and pretty Lady Joyce.
Ill. Sir Howard has hosted an annual steak cookout for
our Past Pote’s group for some time, and it is always well
attended by other Past Potentates. This last occasion
was held on June 6 and I have included some photos.
See if you can recognize your Past Potentates. Potentate
Kevin Sleyster and Lady Dianna were honored guests,
and they brought everyone up to date on what’s happening in and around Ararat Shrine. They also got a sense of
what it is like to be a Past Potentate. As usual the steaks
were cooked just right and the food was superb. We
were delighted to have our Past Potentate widows, Lady
Beverly Fowler, Lady Hattie Weber, and Lady Louise
Bennett and 15 Past Potentates in attendance.
A wonderful time was had by all. Can’t wait for the
next wing ding so we can reminisce about the good times
we had, and of the many friends we have because of our
service to Ararat Shrine.
The FUN-COR unit has participated in the parades and the unit
has had several meetings to discuss
our growth and participation in the
remaining parades. Unfortunately,
we have had clutch problems and
health concerns preventing several
members from being able to ride so
far. We still have time to group together and get the FUN-COR rolling in force. Contact Terry Slayton
(816-833-3166) for upcoming events
and on how you can join our unit
and have FUN. We have a couple of
bikes you can ride in the parade to
see if the FUN-COR is the unit you
may be interested in joining and being active in.
Our club was very successful in
our first attempt at onion sales this
year. With the help of several devoted members, we sold our initial
order of 200 bags in record time.
We then obtained another 100 bags
and have sold most of them. A Big
thanks to all members who bought
or sold these onions and helped our
club and the Shrine in our fundraising endeavors.
Our Building Celebration will
take place Saturday, July 17th beginning at 6 pm. The club will
provide the main course and the
meal for your evening of fun. We
will also hold a Silent Auction with

Sedalia Shrine Club

reetings to all of our Ladies and Nobility. We hope this article finds
each and every one of you in the best of health and spirits. May your
Glorious Creator meet all of your needs.
The club has been busy through the month of June. We are eternally
grateful for all of our faithful volunteers. We are the Sedalia Shrine Club
because of your involvement.
The Fun Kor has another successful parade in Warsaw under their belts.
Our surrounding communities are so appreciative when our Fun Kor parade
unit shows up with all of our people and vehicles. The Fun Kor is really quite
a show.
Our golf course has become increasingly busy with three successful tournaments, Senior Golf on Fridays (1:00 pm - ?), and the course is open for
play from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm seven days a week. We still are in need of two
volunteers, so if you have time from 8:00 am – 12 noon and would like to
contribute that time to the Sedalia Shrine Club, give Ron Hinkle a call at
221-8968. Be a part of the team. We need you.
Bingo is still slow and survives through the faithfulness of our volunteers.
Folks, we need your help. These volunteers are stretched thin and need relief.
If you can help, contact Ron Bush our Bingo Chairman or Don Timbers for
kitchen help.
Our Ladies are major players in our volunteer staff and we love and thank
you for all you do.
Please don’t forget the Fair Stand. Our sign-up sheets for volunteers to
work the Fair Stand at the Missouri State Fair are still looking very bare.
August 12-22 is the Fair dates and our stand is open 24 hours a day. This is a
major fundraiser for the Sedalia Shrine club and your participation is essential. Please come in and sign-up for one of our four daily shifts. You will find
the sign-up sheet in the Pro Shop. Know that you are keeping our club alive.
Pray for all of our people in service to our country and to our grieving
families and to our sick and disabled. Our condolences go out to the family
and friends of Bob Masoner, a long time Brother.

Ararat Ballroom Dance Club
BY RON GRIEP
G
reat News! We had another
very successful Dance on
Saturday, April 17th, with
approximately 224 guests in attendance. Our theme was “Dance into
Spring”, and we had shades of pastel balloons, spring flowers, yellow
streamers, and lots of smiles! We
have given away a number of door
prizes, including donations of lady
gift boxes, candy and potted spring
plants! There are also lots of popcorn and candy for everyone.
Our Dance Studios performing
were: Ballroom Unlimited, dancing a waltz with Bill Lillich and
Kim Turner and A & W Ballroom,
dancing a swing with Linda and John
England...They were great! Steve
Dowdy and his lady again took pictures of our dancers, and we want to
give them a big Thank You! You can
view more pictures on the “Buzz”.
Just a few comments from our
last dance I thought you might enjoy:
Linda Dailey.. Organizer of a
large dance group: “WOW.....we
have to wait all the way until Oct.
23 for another dance!!!!! Thank you!
We had a great time last night-you
guys put on a ‘Fun Night”. Next
time I post, I think I’d like to put in a
blurb on where the money goes that’s
raised at the dance...and let people
know that it’s not just ANOTHER
dance....Thanks Again, Linda.”
Cheryl Smith: “This was the
best Shriner Dance we have ever
attended! The popcorn was great,
the decorations so cute, the prizes
were wonderful, and the music was
the BEST! We loved doing the
line dances too! Your group did a
fabulous job-REALLY!!!!!! Thanks,
Cheryl.”
We enjoying hearing from our
guests and members, so let us know
how you feel, and how we can improve our club.
We had a good response at our
“Ceremonial Table” on May 15th and
we have a new member, Mike Smith.
Thank you for joining our club! Anyone wanting more information on
our club please send a e-mail to: [email protected] and Debbie
will contact you. If you like to dance,
we want you in our club.
Our club has donated $1,000.00
to the Cornerstone Fund, and at our
last meeting our very special Ladies
pitched in and every member donated one to three stuffed animals for
the Telemedicine Room, for a total
of 21. Thanks again, Ladies!
The next Dance is October
23rd. See you on the dance floor.
Greeter News

W
e had a “Big Time” at the May Greeter Dinner on May
5th. At the June 2nd meeting the Crown of Honor Jewel
presentation took place.
There will be no meeting in July and August, however, the September meeting will actually be held August 25th, due to CSSA.
Please mark your calendars now.
We are all looking forward to the Picnic, July 11. The Breakfast in
the Park will be August 15th, which is always a fun time.
WOW! What a time we had at the “Fish Fry”. Dave Daniel and his
worthy crew really outdid themselves. Great weather, great food, great
friends at a huge outdoor fish fry. We enjoyed catfish and jambalaya
(courtesy of “Danny’s Big Easy” Restaurant). Danny is Landry Gosserand’s brother. We all had a great time on the shore at Weatherby
Lake. Thanks to you and your helpers, David. See pictures at right.
Enjoy your summer!!
