Quando Peppe mi diede il demo del trio, dopo aver suonato insieme una sera, gli dissi che
lo avrei ascoltato, un po' per rispetto, un po' per la curiosità che ho sempre verso i giovani
musicisti, ma quasi ogni volta credo già di sapere o di intuire quello che ascolterò.
Arrivare alla fine di questo disco, senza mai stancarmi, è stata invece una totale sorpresa.
Appena messo nell'impianto audio, pensavo di ascoltare il solito trio jazz, magari con dei bravi
talenti, ma che musicalmente avrebbero offerto le solite cose, pensavo anche che ormai la
formazione piano, basso e batteria avesse poco da offrire. Invece sentendo questo trio mi
sono ricreduto. C'è ancora da riscoprire e trovare nuove strade, come quelle percorse da
Urban Fabula, attenti ad ogni minimo dettaglio, un trio che si sente che fa le prove e che
compone per il gruppo. Le composizioni sono ottime e curate, gli arrangiamenti originali.
Musicisti di gran gusto e ottima tecnica. Non voglio immaginare cosa faranno tra qualche
anno - trattandosi di giovani talenti e al loro primo lavoro discografico - quando avranno più
esperienza e dopo tanti concerti, che auguro loro fortemente! Mi piacerebbe risentirvi allora,
per sorprendermi ancora e godere della vostra meravigliosa musica.
Spero che gli ascoltatori di questo disco abbiano le stesse belle sensazioni che ho avuto io
ascoltandolo.

When Peppe gave me the demo of the trio, after having played together one night, I told him I
would have listened to it, partly out of respect, partly out of curiosity I always have regarding
young musicians. However, almost every time I already know or guess what I will be listening to.
Instead, it came as a complete surprise to me that I could listen to the whole of this disc
without ever once being bored. After having put it on the stereo of my car, I was quite sure
that it would be the usual jazz trio, maybe with good talents, but who would offer the same
old things. I thought also that a group composed of piano, bass and drum would have very
little to offer. Instead, listening to this trio, I totally changed my mind. There is something yet
to be discovered and new routes to be followed like those taken by Urban Fabula, attentive
to every detail, which one senses must rehearse over and over again and which composes for
the group. The compositions are excellent and well crafted. I cannot imagine what they will be
doing in a few years time (given that they are young talents and this is their very first album)
after more experience and concerts, that I warmly wish them! I would really like to listen to you then, so that you can surprise me once more and I can enjoy
again your wonderful music.
I hope listeners of this CD will have the same beautiful sensations I had as I listened to it.
