Wisconsin Club Membership
Many long and lasting friendships have been made through the
Wisconsin Club since its inception in 1967. You are welcome to
come join us, and meet the friendly and knowledgeable people who
share a mutual respect for riding BMW motorcycles.
Our membership includes men and women; families, couples and
singles. Our monthly meeting is held at the New Berlin VFW Hall,
and is open to all BMW riders. During the riding season we sponsor
many activities, including group rides, tech days, social gettogethers, and in September host the annual Wisconsin Dells Rally.
Visitors are welcome. If you are interested in membership, you will
be asked to attend two club rides and two monthly club meetings
within 12 months prior to being voted in by the general membership.
You must be the age of majority, carry liability insurance, and above
all, own and operate a BMW motorcycle.
Helmets & proof of insurance are required
by all participants on club rides.

PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Well the first rallies of the year have come and gone already. Gina and I made it
on Ernie’s ride to the GR3 and we managed to stay dry all weekend other than a
couple very light sprinkles. I know some other people in the club have already
attended multiple rallies. I look forward to hearing some stories from the other
rallies.
While I am getting out to ride a little, I have been spending most of my free time
trying to finish my new garage before I leave for the MOA rally. It sounds like there
should be plenty of time but there are days that I wonder if I will ever finish. Ready
or not the garage-warming party is August 8th, also known as the dinner stop for
the Round Robin, I hope everyone is planning on attending.
June brings the club campout. This is always a good time regardless of the weather. Bob Lannin will be leading a ride up to the
campout on Friday June 19. I will also be planning a ride to lunch Saturday June 27th. Look for more ride details here in the
newsletter.
I hope to see you all at the meeting Friday. Until then, ride safe. -Doug

CLUB RIDE REPORTS
Beemer Buzz • June 2015
RIDE REPORT:
GRRRR (Great River Road Rally Ride) May 15th
Led by Ernie Grill. Report by Dave Kurth.
Ernie led us all on the 2015 Club Ride to the Great River Road Rally
again this year. Eleven riders met Friday morning at Hardee’s. The
group consisted of Ernie Grill, Doug & Gina Twing, Jim Fuhrmann,
Harvey Reed, Ron Fuerer, Mike Cohen, Andy Pretzl, Miro
Sapoznikov, and Dave Kurth.
The threat of a rainy weekend hung over us all week and may have
kept a few people away. The trip started out dark, damp, and
foreboding but as the morning rolled on, it became a little clearer
and a little warmer.
We stopped in Sauk City for the brat fry and to fuel up. As we left Sauk City we started to spread out and enjoy the twisties. Ernie kept it
a little low key this year and it’s a good thing too. A County Trooper was waiting for us in one spot, so Ernie's intuition paid off for us all.
Unfortunately, we did have one bike fall out on the ride though. Andy had mechanical trouble 10 miles west of Sauk City. Hopefully Andy
has the oilhead back up and running soon.
By the time we arrived at the rally, the sun was shining and it was a good day. In fact, the weather turned out to be great and the 90%
chance of rain held off for almost the entire weekend - at least until Sunday morning. (Too bad some of us wussed out and headed home
Saturday, eh?). But I think we all had a pretty good time.
Miro lead Jim and I on a ride along the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers. It’s always nice to see the friends we've made from the other
clubs from the Midwest. The Madison Club did a nice job with the rally and The Unique Café still has a best breakfast this side of the
Mason Dixon Line. For most of us, the GRRR is the kickoff for the rally season. It was great to share it together. Thanks, Ernie!
RIDE REPORT:
FISH FRY RIDE May 1st
Led by Ernie Grill. Report by Bob Reitberger.
The group gathered at Hardee’s and departed on-time after a short riders meeting at which our famous leader informed us of "The Rules.”
A nice ride through the countryside during which not one rider managed to get confused or lost as I was bringing up rear and had not one
bike breakdown or even pay attention to me. The riders consisted of Ernest Grill, Edward Boskamp, Karen Jacobs, Douglas Twing, David
Kurth, Michael McArthey, Timothy Koester, David & Gail Henderson, Robert Lannin, Joy Kuenzi, and myself Bob R with grandson Alex
doing the clean up of which there was none. The food was really good & plenty of it also.
